The call for IFS Basic Research Grant Applications 2020-S

Deadline for submission: 30 November 2019.

A. I have already created an account, but I cannot log in / access it.

Your account is not active – please do not create a new one. Contact IFS to have your account
activated. annika.eriksson@ifs.se or fortune.orlendo@ifs.se

B. I applied in an earlier session, but my application was not approved.

Please give the old application number as a reference in the new application.

C. I am an IFS grantee, I want to apply for a renewal but I do not have an account in the
IFS Community. What do I do?
Contact IFS for instructions before registering. Send an e-mail to Applications@ifs.se and
give your IFS grant number as reference in the subject line.

D. I am a first time applicant, I want to apply for an IFS grant and I don’t have an account
in the IFS Community. What do I do?

Check list for eligibility:

 Are you enrolled in a PhD programme or have you within five years completed a PhD degree?
 Are you a citizen of an eligible country, and plan to carry out your research in an
eligible country (this does not have to be the country of citizenship) (> Eligible Countries
list)?
 Does your research topic fall within the IFS research areas (> IFS Research Areas )?

If you say “yes” to all 3 statements, you are eligible for an IFS Basic research grant. To begin your
application you need to register an account on the IFS community.

1) Go to: IFS Community Sign Up

2) Fill out the fields; make sure to select “Applicant” in the field “Role”.
3) Create your own password
4) Submit – and now you have access to the IFS Community. You will receive a confirmation by
e-mail.

In the IFS Community, you will find guidelines and other documents on how to create and fill in your
application. Please read them carefully before starting to your application.
