1. Remove six bolts (38) and six washers (37) in order to remove cover (35) and gasket (36) .

Note: Mark connector assemblies (P) so that the connectors can be reconnected at the correct locations.

2. Remove two bolts (39) and two washers (40) in order to remove bracket assembly (41). Disconnect
receptacle assemblies (P) .

3. Position a gear tooth directly in the center of the opening for speed sensor (42) .

4. Loosen locknut (R). Turn speed sensor (42) in the clockwise direction until the end of speed sensor (42)
contacts the gear tooth.

5. Turn speed sensor (42) counterclockwise for a one-half turn (180 degrees).

Note: Do not allow speed sensor (42) to turn when locknut (R) is tightened.

6. Use wrench flats (T) in order to keep speed sensor (42) from turning. Tighten locknut (R) to a torque of 25 ±
5 N·m (18 ± 4 lb ft).

7. If necessary, repeat Step 3 through Step 6 for each speed sensor.

8. Replace bracket assembly (41) with two washers (40) and two bolts (39) .

9. Connect receptacle assemblies (P) in the original positions. If necessary, refer to Table 1.

10. Use six washers (37) and six bolts (38) in order to replace gasket (36) and cover (35). Tighten bolts (37) to a
torque of 47 ± 9 N·m (35 ± 7 lb ft).
