Alone we can do so little; together we can
do so much.

Thank you to everyone who came to help us
celebrate Fire Prevention week! The fire
trucks and puppet show were very fun and
educational. The message we all took from
this was as a family you should discuss and
practice your escape route and meeting
place. The fire drill was a huge success, the
students did a wonderful job of practicing their
escape route and meeting place here at
school.
Friday we will be celebrating our fundraiser
success. I will be handing out the movie
tickets and letting the kids know that the
Bowling Party will be Nov.14th. I am working
out the details for the party and will let you
know soon.
There will be a Healing Mass on Tuesday,
Oct. 15. All are welcome to join us!
“Pink Out” for Breast Cancer is Oct. 18th.
Please send your children in pink! This is dear
to my heart as a two time Breast Cancer
survivor. Student Council will be creating a
“Wall of Honor”. If you have someone that has
had breast cancer, please let us know-as we
will put their names on our wall!
We are truly blessed here at Prairie Catholic.

Reminder!! Parents transport child(ren)
to school tomorrow Friday, October 11,

Burgers and Fries - On Saturday,
October 12th the Holy Family Men's Club
will sponsor a "Burger & Fries" in the
Fellowship Hall 4:30pm – 6:45pm. We are
asking each family to help with this event by
making a pan of bars to be used for dessert
for the supper. These can be brought to the
kitchen anytime on Saturday Oct 12th. Free
will offering, bring your family and friends.
Student Council – Student Council will be
hosting the following events each day next
week! It will be a challenge amongst
classes. Students will need to bring spare
change for this challenge.
 Monday October 14th - Penny Wars
 Tuesday October 15th - Nickel Wars
 Wednesday October 16th - Dime
Wars
 Thursday October 17th – Quarter
Wars
 Friday October 18th – Pink Out Day!
Wear Pink!
Reminder – Patron’s Day Field Trip has
been changed to Friday October 25th.
Please make sure your child is dressed in
layers with some kind of coat or sweatshirt.
Tennis shoes are required. Children must
wear socks to play on the Bounce Pillow. If
your child signed up to bring their own lunch
from home that day please make sure it is
labeled with their name and grade. Lunch
selections on the previous permission
slip will remain the same. (school lunch
or lunch from home.)
Shorts – It is that time of year again. Last
day for students to wear shorts is tomorrow,
Friday October 11th.
Fire Prevention Week –Today the Rural
Bridgeport Fire Department and the Prairie du
Chien Fire Department visited our school.
There was a short program for our younger
students and fire trucks etc. for all our students
to see. We would like to take this time to thank
all our local firefighters who help to protect us!
We appreciate your hard work!
Reminder for all….
LOOK
Look for places fire could start. Take a good
look around your home. Identify potential fire
hazards and take care of them.
LISTEN
Listen for the sound of the smoke alarm. You
may have only minutes to escape safely once
the smoke alarm sounds. Go to your outside
meeting place, which should be a safe distance
from the home and where everyone should
know to meet.
LEARN
Learn two ways out of every room and make
sure all doors and windows leading

Saints & Soles – We are looking for someone
to oversee and coordinate our Annual Saints
and Soles 5K Run/Walk & Kids Run. If
interested in volunteering for this event set up
please contact the school office for more
information.
