INTENDED USE GENERAL SYSTEM PARAMETER
This reagent is intended for in vitro quantitative determination of Glucose in serum, Mode of Reaction End Point
plasma & CSF.
Slope of reaction Increasing
- GOD-PAP methodology
- Linear upto 600 mg/dL Wavelength 505 (490-550 nm)
Temperature 370C
CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE
Glucose is a major carbohydrate present in the blood & serves as a primary source of Standard Concentration 100 mg/dL
energy. It is usually obtained from ingested starch & sugar. The glucose concentration Linearity 600 mg/dL
is normally maintained at a constant level. Excessive glucose is stored as inactive Incubation Time 10 Minutes
glycogen mainly in the liver & little in the muscles.
Elevated blood glucose levels are found in diabetes mellitus, hyperthyroidism, Blank Reagent
hyperadrenalism & certain liver diseases. Sample volume 10 μL
Decreased levels are found in Insulinoma, hypothyroidism, hypopituitarism. Reagent volume 1000 μL
PRINCIPLE Cuvette 1 cm light path
Enzymatic colorimetric determination of glucose according to the following reaction. LABORATORY PROCEDURE
Glucose Oxidase Blank Standard Sample
Glucose+ O2 + H2O -----------------------> Gluconic acid + H2O2

STORAGE AND STABILITY 2. Dingeon, B.; Ann.Bio.Clin 33,3 (1975)
The sealed reagents are stable up to the expiry date stated on the label, when stored 3. Lott, J. ; Clin.Chem. 21, 1754 (1975)
at 2 - 80C.
LINEARITY
This reagent is linear up to 600 mg/dL
If the concentration is greater than linearity (600 mg/dL), dilute the sample with normal
saline and repeat the assay. Multiply the result with dilution factor.
NORMAL RANGE
It is recommended that each laboratory establish its own reference values.
The following value may be used as guide line.
Serum / Plasma : 70-105 mg/dL
CSF : 50 -70 mg/dL
PREPARATION AND STABILITY OF WORKING REAGENT
The Reagent is ready to use.
PRECAUTION
To avoid contamination, use clean laboratory wares.
Avoid direct exposure of reagent to light.
SAMPLE
Serum / plasma (free of haemolysis) / CSF
