Learning Objectives: The student will classify right, acute, obtuse, and straight angles.

Virginia Essential Knowledge and Skills (SOL): VBO: 5.4.1-classify right, acute, obtuse, and
straight angles.

1. The student will complete the pre-assessment google form.

10 mins 1. In small groups, the teacher will lead the students in making a straight, acute,

3. The student will label and make the angles by folding the plate is half, quarters,
and eighths with the teacher.
4. The small group will create an anchor chart listing all the angles and their
measurements to glue into math notebooks.

them.

Lesson Critique. To be completed following the lesson. Did your students meet the objective(s)? What part
of the lesson would you change? Why?
This lesson went extremely well and allowed the student to work with the topic of angles in
a hands-on way. They were also able to see the relationships between the angles and
continually review each angle and its measurement. The teacher needs to be sure to use a
mew paper plate with every small group. I tried to reuse the small paper plate and the
group was very confused with the angle I had already draw on it that they did not have.
