EKSPLOITATION AS DOLPHINS OF CIRCUS ANIMAL SHOULD BE STOPPED

In the habitat, dolphins are able to swim as far as 160 kilometers per day, as deep as 60
meters, and they also live berkelompok.85 The dolphin is one of the mammals that have high
intelligence, match the ability of the human brain, because thinking and complex emotions. 86 With
the intelligence of dolphins are considered as non-human person. 87 Therefore, the maintenance of
dolphins and hired him to lead the dolphin becomes stress that comes from fear, anxiety,
frustration, also boredom, it will affect the psychological and physical, and ultimately lead to a
prolonged illness or death .88 the dolphins will suffer since been arrested, transported and finally
confined in a limited pool.

It is already evident at the time of the study by Frank Robson 89 in New Zealand in
19701974. Hundreds of dolphins caught by a trawler near the coast of New Zealand. Judging from
the physical dolphin looks healthy, but some of them died due to drowning. Only 5 percent

In my opinion The dolphin is a protected species which is lately used as a tool to entertain
humans in the form of a dolphin circus. Although illegal, roving circus dolphins are often
encountered. But the main thing of this problem is the lack of public awareness that dolphins do not
deserve to be a spectacle because there is exploitation behind the circus dolphins. There needs to
be an attractive media as an effort to make people aware of the impact of the exploitation of
dolphins.

Action animal exploitation is also prohibited. Among other things, the Directorate General of
Forest Protection and Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA) in Yogyakarta, West Java,
Central Java and East Java through circulars, are not allowed to issue a Letter of Transport of Plants
and Animals of the Interior (SATS-DN) for circus roving animals and the animal returns to his native
Conservation Institute. The Indonesian government through Law - Law No. 5 of 1990 which
discussed the Natural Resources Conservation, has determined that Lumbalumba including one
protected fauna. (Tanzil, et al.2013)
 Making the game is one way that can be used to disseminate that dolphins traveling circus is
a form of animal exploitation considering the game is one form of media that is preferred by
children today. Games are also able to boost the function of motor development, intellectual
development, affective development and social development in children.
