Dear Kapa‘a High Parents and Guardians:
Our administration was made aware today of an alleged threat to our campus. The Kauai Police
Department responded immediately and the campus was placed on lockdown at 9:15 a.m. out of
an abundance of caution. The lockdown was lifted at 11:05 a.m. School will be open tomorrow
with no change in schedule.
All threats to our school and students are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly. Terroristic
threats are considered Class A student conduct offenses. Penalties can range from detention to
the possibility of arrest and serious criminal charges.
‘The safety of our students is a major priority and we are committed to providing a secure
campus. I would like to commend our staff, teachers, parents and students for their prompt,
response and cooperation during today’s incident.
