III.Procedure

Teacher’s Activity

A.Preparatory Activities

1.Prayer

2.Checking of Attendance
Who is absent today class?

Very good!

3.Health Inspection
Before we start our lesson, let’s have first our health inspection.

May I request the leader of each group to help me check or inspect the nails of your groupmate.
Why is it important for us to check our nails or other parts of our body?

What else?

What is the best thing that we should do every day?

4.Weather Report.
Let us now have the weather report.

5.Science Tribya

Ammuyu kadi…?
nga ti mula nga inyog ket maaw-awagannga tree of life o kayu a makabiag ta amin a parte naket

Pangarigan ket ti bulong na nga maar-aramid nga walis tingting.

6.Checking of Assignment
Please bring out your assignment, pass it forward and I’ll be the one to check it.

7.Review
Let’s have a review about our past lesson?

What was our lesson last Friday?

What are basic needs of the animals?

What will happen to the animals if they are not provided with these needs?

8.Motivation
So, before we go on to our lesson, let us sing first a song.

What is all about the song?

What do plants need in order to grow tall?

What do plants need in order to grow so green?

B.Developmental Activities

1.Presentation
Class, I have here a picture.

What do you see in the picture?

What can you say about the picture?

What makes the picture so beautiful?

What parts of the plants can you see?

What do you want to know more about the plants?

You will learn more on this as we go on to our activity today.

LEARN

Plant

2.Setting of Standards
But before that, what are the things that you should do or observe in doing your activity?

Can I expect all those things from you, class?

3.Group Activity
I have here envelopes. Inside these envelopes are the materials that you need in making your
activity.

Each group must assign their leader and gofer.

I will only give you 5 minutes to finish your activity. But before that, I prepared scoring rubric or
scoring guide for performance in the activity process.
Pupil’s Activity

None.

(Leader will now inspect and report.)

It is important to check our nails or other parts of our body because through these, we can avoid or
prevent different diseases.

Through these we will become a healthy person.

Take a bath regularly.

(One pupil will report.)

Yes, Ma’am.

It’s all about the basic needs of animals.

Food, water, air and shelter.

Animals will die.

About the plant.

Water.

Sunshine.
Plants, trees, flower

It is beautiful.

The plants.

Flowers, leaves, etc.

Participate in the lesson or activity.

Listen attentively.
Avoid making unnecessary noise.
Note important details.
Tell and share your ideas.
Sit erect and properly.

Time Limit
The group was finished before the given time.
The work was finished exactly on the given time.
The work was finished after the given time.

Correctness
All answers are correct.
1-2 answers are incorrect.
3 or more answers are incorrect.

Participation
All members are participating.
1-2 members are not participating.
3 or more members are not participating.

4.Reporting by Group
Let us have the reporting by group.

We will check your output later on after the discussion.

5.Discussion (Reading of the text)

The roots hold the plant to the soil. They absorb or get water and minerals from the soil. They store or
keep the extra food made by the plant.

What part of the plant can be seen on the ground?

Why do roots seen below the ground?

Do all plants have roots?

What are the other works of the roots?

The stem holds the leaves, flowers and fruits of the plant. They give passageway of water and minerals
to go up from the roots to the leaves and other parts of the plants.

What part of the plant holds the leaves, flowers and fruits?

Do all plants have stem?

What is the main work of the stem?

Very good!

The leaves make the food for the plant. The leaves are the most important part if the plant. Without
green leaves, a plant cannot make food for its growth.

What do you call the part of the plant where it makes its own food?

What is needed to make food for its growth?

The flowers are the most attractive part of a plant. They have different colors and odors. The flower
helps the plant to make seeds.

shapes, too. They differ in colors, smell and taste. Some are sweet while others are sour.

What part of the plant that holds the seed of the plant?

What do you think is the other use of fruits?

6.Checking of Group Activity

Did you understand our lesson, children?

Ok, let us now check your group work.

KWL Chart and Group Activity

(Teacher will check their answer)

Did they get the correct answer?

Did the entire group members participated?

Did you finish your group work ahead or after the given time?

7.Enrichment Activities
I have here a magic box. Inside are cut-outs of different parts of the plant with question on it.
You’re going to pick one, answer and form it into a plant.

Are you ready class?

8.Generalization
Based on the activity you have done, what did you learned today?

What are the parts of the plant?

Very good!

So what is the function of the roots?

For the leaves?

How about the flower?

What is the function of the fruits?

9.Application/Valuing
I have here a problem. Who wants to read the problem and answer the problem?

If there are no plants, can we live?

What will happen to us if there are no plants on earth?

Why?

Who created all the plants?

What should you do with the plants around us?

Very good!

We should propagate them and conserve them.

Roots.

Because they absorbs water with dissolved minerals from the soil.

Yes.

They hold the plant to the soil.

The stem.
