This institute was established in 1961 and was transferred to the present

institute was “Govt. College for Evaluators of Primary Education in West
Pakistan, Lyallpur”. Then its name was changed to “Govt. Training
College, Lyallpur”. In 1976, it was given the name of “Govt. College
Education, Faisalabad”. All over the Punjab, a great number of such type
of institutes are working for the development of the teacher training
discipline. However, their collective efforts were not as well-organized as
required by the nation and it was necessary to organize them as a whole
so that the changing demands of the time and nation could be fulfilled. To
achieve this target Government of the Punjab decided to establish
“University of Education”. In 2002 this institute had been integrated with
the University of Education, Lahore along with nine Campuses
throughout Punjab including Faisalabad Campus.
The University of Education, Faisalabad Campus was established in 2002
with the induction of experienced and highly qualified faculty. It is one of
