 Recognize the layout of a letter; and
 Write a reply letter to the owner of the item they want to buy via asking for more information.
 Material(s): Student’s textbook and the BB.

Time Procedures Techniques


3 Warm-up
minutes -T greets SS.
-T: Good. Welcome to my class. Greeting
-T asks one of the SS to write the date on the BB.
20 minutes Pre-writing stage
Brainstorming: Setting the scene
-T raises SS motivation and awareness about the topic.
-T: Have you ever bought something online or via sending a letter (reply)?
-S1: Yes, online.
-S2: Letter
-T: Okay, let’s focus on a letter. How can we write it? What do we need?
-SS provide their answers.

Drafting:
-T asks SS to re-write the letter of Kawan correctly.
20 minutes -T asks SS to write a reply letter of their own to the owner about the item they are
interested in. Revising
-T monitors the class by going around the rows and checking SS’ work and progress.
Revising:
-T asks SS to exchange their letters and revise. Editing
Editing:
-T asks SS to edit their first drafts if there are any mistakes and write their last drafts.
17 minutes Post-writing stage
Publishing Publishing
-T has SS read out their final drafts in front of each other. (oral presentation)
-T writes a letter on the BB with the help of Ss. (Whole-class production).
-T asks SS to copy on their lessons book.
