 General Objective(s): Students will be able to use all forms of the present continuous.
 Students Performance Objectives (SPO): By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
 Recognize all forms of the present progressive and its uses;
 Use the target structure by providing sentences (game) in the production stage.
 Material(s): Textbook, data-show and BB.

Time Procedure Techniques


2 Warm-up
minutes -T greets SS Greeting
-T: Welcome to my class.
-T asks one of the SS to write the date on the BB
Presentation:
- T sets the scene and creates a need for SS. Q/A
20 - T asks SS to remind him of the auxiliary ‘’to be’’ in the simple present.
minutes -SS provide potential answers.
- T starts writing on the BB. Eliciting
-T: What am I doing?
-S: You write.
-T: I am writing now.
-T writes the title of the lesson on the BB. Present Continuous
-T performs other actions (reading, closing the door and so on...)
-T asks one of the SS to come over to the BB and draw something.
-T: What is X doing now/ at the moment? Performing
-S: X writes Actions
- T writes the sentence on the BB highlighting the TS and the indicator.
-T: X is drawing on the BB at this moment.
-T asks two students to come up to the BB and start writing.
-T: what are they doing?
-S: They are writing.

-S: we are studying English now.
-T presents the negative form.
-T: Am I driving a car now?
-SS: No.
-T: I am not driving a car now.
-T asks SS to put the above sentences in the negative form (checking comprehension).
-T adds other sentences in the negative form. The use of

Remember
1. Subject + to be in the present+ Verb+ ing => Affirmative
form
2. Subject + to be in the simple present + not + verb+ ing. => Negative form
3. V. to be in the S. present + Subject + verb + ing. => Interrogative
form

 The Present Continuous is used to express actions that are happening now or at
the moment of speaking.
