Post-installation
Perform the following steps:
1. Add hosts to a cluster using Add Hosts Wizard
b. Click the Hosts tab at the upper right. Then click Actions button on the upper left
and select + Add New Hosts to start the Add Hosts Wizard.

d. Scroll down to the Host Registration Information section, define the private key
of your master node. Ensure that the SSH User Account is hdplab and SSH Port
Number is 22.

f. Wait for some initial verification to occur on your cluster. Once the process is
done, click the Next button to proceed (Please ignore all the warnings reported):
g. Assign all slave and client components and check the following components
(Datanode, Nodemanager, Client). Then click Next.

i. Notice that the Review page allows you to review your complete installation
configuration. If you’re satisfied that everything is correct, scroll to the bottom of
the page and click the Deploy button to start the installation process.

k. Click the Complete button the next screen to be taken to the Hosts page. You
should see all four nodes listed

a. On your Ambari Dashboard, click the Actions button in the lower left and then
click + Add Service
b. On choose Services screen, check Kafka as our new service to be added on our
HDP cluster. Scroll down to the bottom of the page then click Next button.
c. The Ambari wizard attempts to assign the various master services on appropriate
hosts in your cluster. Notice that the Kafka is assigned to master-node. Once
verified, scroll to the bottom of the screen, and click Next button.

e. Click on the Kafka tab and review the recommended configurations. Scroll to the
bottom of the screen, and click Next button.
f. There recommended changes window will show and click Proceed Anyway.
g. Notice that the Review page allows you to review your complete installation
configuration. If you’re satisfied that everything is correct, scroll to the bottom of
the page and click the Deploy button to start the installation process. (If you
need to go back and make changes, you can use the Back button

h. Wait for Kafka and its components to install. It may take up to 30 minutes to
complete. You will see the progress under the Status column as components are
installed, tested, and started.
i. When finished, the Message will report “Success”. (If there are Warnings
encountered, please ignore). Click Next button.

j. Check all configured services are on the expected nodes, then scroll down and
click the Complete button. You will be redirected to the Ambari Dashboard and
check the Kafka services is added.
RESULT: You have now added a new host and a service on a HDP cluster
