ACTION RESEARCH PROPOSAL

I. Problem Description

I have 47 students in my Grade 9 advisory class. Majority has been very

willing to go to school without any absent on classes. Over the month of June
however, I have observed that 6 of my students started to leave on classes.
Curious by such behavior, I found out that these 6 students leave on classes
due to declining interest in their studies. The reason for such behavior was their
interest paved to computer games and laziness on going to school.

II. Propose Intervention

Knowing that these students has more interest on computer games rather
than on attending their classes. I will however make a letter to their parents in
order for them to be aware of the behavior of their children. I will call my
intervention Parent – Teacher Collaboration.

Parent – Teacher Collaboration is to strengthen the relationship of the

parents and teacher for the welfare of their children. Because I believe on the
parent – teacher forces can sustain a better solution of the problem. As what I
believe, everything started from home. Knowing the behavior of a student on
their home can be a great aid for me to handle them rightly where they will gain
interest in attending classes. I am more confident that cooperative parents can
be a tool for an active student in class. The feeling of support in their studies is
one way of keeping up their children in pursuing their studies. In one way or
another, the teacher and the parents will partake each responsibility to a better
learning growth of the students.
