University of Greenwich Vietnam, Office of Student Services and Support

To whom it may concern,

I am Firstname Lastname, a 1st year student at the University. I study at the Binh
Thanh campus, and I am currently enrolled in the IT course. I have heard
promising things about the way the course will be taught and how the
administrative systems will be very organized and so on, which I find to be a merit
of the school. However, I find that there are several lecturers that refuse to or are
otherwise unable to use English in the classrooms, which is a direct violation of
the agreement that the programs would be taught in English. Their reasons
include the fact that some of the other students are not able to keep up with
English usage for our particular major, but I find this to be not more than an
excuse. I believe the school’s English course/test should have done well enough to
assess which students are ready to enroll in their respective majors, and thusly the
teacher should be able to use English without the concern of students not
following along with the lessons.

To resolve this issue, I kindly implore you to either tighten the measures revolving
the assessment and training for students’ command of English, or employ periodic
tests on the lecturers so as to ensure that their English is up to par. I believe that
the simple fact that the teacher has to use English should be a powerful enough
incentive on its own that it should get the students to take the English courses
more seriously, and for teachers to follow the agreement that was stated
regarding the language to teach in classrooms.

I look forward to hearing from you in about a week’s time of the sending of this
letter. Should I not receive a response about remedying this issue, I will further my
concerns by naming specifically the lecturers that do not use English in their
classrooms. Then, I hope, you would be able to find substitute lecturers that are
more capable.

Best regards,
Firstname Lastname.
