FIRMWARE INSTALLATION NOTICE

TOSHIBA LCD MODELS 46WX800U and 55WX800U

The installation process is simple; however, please read all of the following instructions and notices prior to installation. This firmware
update is intended solely for use with the TOSHIBA Models indicated above.

Notice (Read Prior to Beginning the Firmware Upgrade)

The following events may interrupt the upgrade process and result in an inoperative unit.
1) Only unplug the AC Power Cord when instructed during the firmware upgrade procedure.
2) Avoid loss or interruption of power during the firmware upgrade procedure.
! 3) DO NOT Press the power button on the unit, unless instructed by the firmware upgrade procedure.
If you are experiencing problems or have further questions:
Customers should contact Toshiba Customer Service at 800-631-3811.
Toshiba Authorized Service Providers should contact Toshiba Technical Support Group.

Prior to using this installation procedure, the correct firmware must be provided on a USB drive by Toshiba or
downloaded to a USB drive from an Authorized Toshiba website. When downloading from a website, extract
the compressed (zipped) files directly to a newly formatted USB drive. Do not alter the file or folder structures.
(Note: When formatting the USB use the “FAT” file system)

NOTE: Some personal settings and preferences may need adjusted upon completion of this upgrade. Please
note any personal settings or preferences prior to proceeding to the firmware upgrade.

Use the following procedure to update the Television firmware version:

1) Place the TV receiver in the “Off” position.

2) “Insert the USB Flash Drive” into the USB drive port (labeled USB) on side of TV. (See Fig.1)

3) With your finger, “Press and Hold” the “Power” touch pad in the lower right front corner of the TV receiver.

4) “Continue to Hold” your finger on the “Power” touch pad, the Blue Power Indicator will begin blink cycles,
continue to hold the “Power” touch pad until the “Power” indicator turns “Pinkish” in color. (may appear a pinkish
purple) Remove your finger from the “Power” touch pad once Power Indicator turns “Pinkish” in color.

5) The firmware upgrade is in progress while the “Power” Indicator remains “Pinkish” in color. DO NOT REMOVE
THE USB FLASH DRIVE; DO NOT REMOVE POWER OR PRESS ANY FUNCTIONS AT THE SET OR WITH
THE REMOTE CONTROL DURING THE FIRMWARE UPDATE. THE FIRMWARE UPDATE WILL TAKE
SEVERAL MINUTES TO COMPLETE. PLEASE BE PATIENT DURINGTHE UPDATE.

6) The firmware update is completed only when the “Power” Indicator turns a solid Blue in color.

7) “Remove AC Power” to the set by unplugging the AC power cord. “Remove the USB Flash Drive” from the
TV receiver. “Re-apply AC power” by plugging the TV back into AC power outlet.

8) The TV receiver will “Power On” (if the TV receiver does not power on simply press the power button) adjust
any personal preferences.

9) The Firmware Update Procedure is now completed.

Note: Re-format the USB Flash Drive using a PC prior to using the USB Flash Drive with any other products
 “USB Flash Drive”
