1. Describe the process by which Egyptian embalmers prepared the dead for afterlife called

mummification. Include the Egyptian name for each “stage” and what occurred during it.

2. Upon death, how could an ancient Egyptian gain entrance into Field of Reeds? Describe the

journey, and the steps along that journey, that a person's three spirits would take in order to

access it.

3. Describe, in detail, the construction of the Great Pyramid and the Great Sphinx. Who built

them? What is unique about them? Did they represent anything specific or unique to ancient

Egyptians?

4. Summarize either the ancient Egyptian “Legend of Osiris” or “Story of Re.” What is the

conclusion? In your opinion, what is the most important part of this particular legend?
