MOODSETTING AND LIGHTING OF CANDLES:

>Power of Love (Song)

>Entrance of Beads

1. INTRODUCTION

Narrator: In the Middle Ages, when the Albigensian Heresy was rapidly
spreading all over the continent of Europe and was leading many into error, God
raised a Holy Priest to preach zealously the true doctrine of Christ as given by
the Church. This is no other than Dominic. The Blessed Virgin Mary, our Mother,
appeared in front of Dominic and gave him the Rosary in the year 1206. She
taught him how to pray it so that we, believers of God, would employ it in our
daily lives and use it as a weapon that is definitely effective against heresy and
evil. Indeed, Dominic reaped success. Through his great expression and
implementation of the will of God, many returned to the Catholic Church. Again,
it was on May 13, 1917, on the slope of Cova de Iria, that our Lady appeared to
the three children of Fatima: Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco, who were at that time
attending to their sheep. She appeared to them several times giving them a
message. She said,

Dubber 1 (Female): “Pray the Rosary everyday in order to obtain peace for the
whole world and end the war.”

Narrator: The Rosary is undeniably the effectual channel that would lead to
peace. Pope Paul IV has spoken the Rosary as contemplation in communion with
Mary of a series of mysteries of salvation. These mysteries, drawn from the
Gospel, expressed the joy of the messianic times, the salvific sufferings of Christ,
and glory of the Risen Lord. This contemplation encourages practical reflection
and provides stimulating norms of living. Mary ever remains as the path that
leads to Christ, for what other reasons do we continually turn to Mary than to
seek for the Christ she holds in her arms. The Prayers of the Rosary are the
Lord’s Prayer or the Our Father, the succession of the Hail Mary and the Glory
Be. Thus, each recitation is truly great and suppliant in the Lord’s Prayer; full of
praise during the tranquil succession of Hail Mary; and contemplative, meditative
and full of adoration during the Glory Be to and for the faithful, most especially
when prayed with utmost reverence and with no reservation.

2. EXPLANTION OF THE ROSARY

Dubber 2 (Female): What is the Rosary?
The word Rosary means Crown of Roses. It is a prayer for peace and for the
family. The Rosary, precisely because it starts with Mary’s own experience, is a
specifically thoughtful prayer. It is furthermore The Perfect Gospel Prayer.

Our Lady has revealed to several people that each time they say a Hail Mary,
they are giving her a beautiful rose, and that each complete Rosary, makes her a
Crown of Roses. The rose is the queen of flowers, and so the Rosary is the rose
of all devotions and it is therefore the most important one.

So, the Rosary is a blessed blending of two things: mental prayer and vocal
prayer. These are things by which we honor and learn to imitate the mysteries,
and the virtues of life, death, passion and glory of Jesus and Mary.

3. PROMISES FOR ROSARY PRAYERS

Narrator: THE FIFTEEN PROMISES OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY TO THOSE

WHO PRAY THE ROSARY:

Jermelyn:
1. “To those who shall pray my Rosary devoutly, I promise my special
protection and great graces.”
2. “Those who shall persevere in the recitation of my Rosary will receive
some special grace.”
3. “The Rosary will be a very powerful armor against hell; it will destroy vice,
deliver from sin and dispel heresy.”
4. “The Rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for
souls the most abundant divine mercies. It will draw the hearts of men
from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire
of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this
means.”
5. “Those who trust themselves to me through the Rosary will not perish.”
6. “Whoever recites my Rosary devoutly reflecting on the mysteries, shall
never be overwhelmed by misfortune. He will not experience the anger of
God nor will perish by an unprovided death. The sinner will be converted;
the just will persevere in grace and merit eternal life.”
7. “Those truly devoted to my Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of
the Church.”
8. “Those who are faithful to recite my Rosary shall have during their life and
at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces and will
share in the merits of the blessed.”
9. “I will deliver promptly from purgatory souls devoted to my Rosary.
10. “True children of my Rosary will enjoy great glory in heaven.”
11. “What you shall ask through my Rosary you shall obtain.”
12.“To those who propagate my Rosary I promise aid in all their necessities.”
13. “I have obtained from my Son that all the members of the Rosary
Confraternity shall have as their intercessors, in life and death, the entire
celestial court.”
14. “Those who recite my Rosary faithfully are my beloved children, the
brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ.”
15. “Devotion to my Rosary is a special sign of predestination.”

8. PROLOGUE:

Narrator: God said: Let there be light…and there was light…God created the
world, saw that it was GOOD and created the human person in His own image
and likeness. In the fall of man, Adam and Eve rejected God and fell into
temptation. Sin and death made their entrance into human history. But, because
of the unconditional love of God for the people, He sent His son to save the
world from sin and darkness…(BGM)…For God so loved the world that He gave
His only Son that whoever believes in Him may not be lost, but may have eternal
life…(BGM).

Narrator: In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of
Galilee called Nazareth. He was sent to a young virgin who was betrothed to a
man named Joseph, of the family of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.

Angel: HAIL MARY FULL OF GRACE THE LORD IS WITH YOU AND
BLESSED ARE YOU, BLESSED ARE YOU AMONG WOMEN. MARIA, AVE
MARIA!

Choir: Who is simple and fair in loving God. Ave to the name of Mary.

Angel and Choir: HAIL MARY FULL OF GRACE THE LORD IS WITH YOU
AND BLESSED ARE YOU, BLESSED ARE YOU AMONG WOMEN. MARIA,
AVE MARIA!

Narrator: Mary was troubled at these words, wondering what this greeting
could mean.

Angel: “Do not fear Mary fir God has looked kindly on you. You shall conceive
and bear a son and you shall call Him Jesus. He will be great and shall rightly be
called Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the Kingdom of David,
his ancestor, he will rule over the people of Jacob forever and his reign shall
have no end.”

Mary: “How can this be if I am a virgin?”

Angel: “The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will
overshadow you; therefore the Holy Child to be born shall be called Son of God.
Even your relative Elizabeth is expecting a son in her old age, although she was
unable to have a child, and she is now in her sixth month. With God nothing is
impossible.”

Mary: “I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done unto me according to your
word.”

Narrator: Mary then set out for a town in the Hills of Judah. (Elizabeth meets
Mary) She entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth (hug). When
Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leapt in her womb. Elizabeth was filled
with the Holy Spirit and giving a loud cry, said:

Elizabeth: You are the most Blessed among Women and Blessed is the Fruit of
Your Womb. How is that the mother of my Lord comes to me? The moment your
greeting sounded in my ears, the baby within me suddenly leapt for joy. Blessed
are you who believed that the Lord’s word would come true!

15. THIRD JOYFUL MYSTERY: THE BIRTH OF JESUS

(Belen on Stage)

(drum beating)
Herald: “As your emperor, I hereby order everyone to register in your
hometown.”

Narrator: So everyone set out for his own city; Joseph too set out from
Nazareth of Galilee. As he belonged to the family of David, being a descendant
of his, he went to Judea to David’s town of Bethlehem to be registered with
Mary, his wife, who was with child.

>OYAYI (SONG)

Narrator: They were in Bethlehem when the first time came for her to have her
child, and she gave birth to a son, her first born. She wrapped him in swaddling
clothes and laid him in the manger, because there was no place for them in the
living room.

There were shepherds camping in the countryside, taking turns to watch over
their flocks at night. Suddenly, an angel appeared to them, with the glory of the
Lord shining around them.
Angel: “Don’t be afraid, I am here to give you good news, great joy for all the
people. Today a savior has been born to you in David’s town; he is the Messiah
and the Lord. Let this be a sign to you. You fill find a baby wrapped in swaddling
clothes and lying in a manger.”

Narrator: Suddenly the angel was surprised by many more heavenly spirits
praising God.

>HIMAYA SA DIOS (SONG)

16. THE FOURTH JOYFUL MYSTERY: THE PRESENTATION OF JESUS AT

THE TEMPLE

Narrator: When the day came for the purification according to the Law of
Moses, they brought the baby up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord, as it is
written in the Law of the Lord; every firstborn male shall be consecrated to God.
And they offered a sacrifice as ordered in the Law of the Lord.

There lived in Jerusalem at this time a very upright and devout man named
Simeon; the Holy Spirit was in him. He looked forward to the time when the Lord
would comfort Israel, and he had been assured by the Holy Spirit that he would
not die before seeing the Messiah of the Lord. So he was led into the temple by
the Holy Spirit at the time the parents brought the child Jesus, to do for him
according to the custom of the Law.

17. THE FIFTH JOYFUL MYSTERY: THE FINDING OF JESUS IN THE
TEMPLE

Narrator: Every year the parents of Jesus went to Jerusalem for the Feast of
the Passover, as was customary. And when Jesus was twelve years old, he went
up with them according to the custom for this feast. After the festival was over,
they returned, but the boy Jesus remained in Jerusalem and his parents did not
know it.

They thought he was in the company and after walking the whole day they
looked for him among their relatives and friends. As they did not find him, they
went back to Jerusalem searching for him, and on the third day they found him
in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking
questions. And all the people were amazed at his understanding and his
answers.

Mary: “Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I were very worried
while searching for you.”

>LITTLE YESHUA (SONG)

Jesus: “Why were you looking for me? Do you not know that I must be in my
Father’s House?”

Narrator: But they did not understand his answer. Jesus went down with them,
returning to Nazareth, and he continued to be subject to them. As for his
mother, she kept all these things in her heart.
