SYNOPSIS ON BLOOD BANK MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

ABSTRACT:
Blood Bank Management System (My Blood Bank) – The main objective of the blood
bank management system is to manage the details of blood, blood donor, blood group.
By means of this application a person can search for the donor of a particular blood
type. All the blood donors can register on this application for their blood donation. A
person can also sell his blood to a hospitals or a plasma donation centre associated by
this web application.

FEATURES:
1. Provides the searching facilities of blood based on blood group.
2. It keeps all the information of a donor including blood group and his/ her health.
3. Person can donate or sell his/ her blood to acceptor, hospitals and plasma donation
centre associated with the application.
4. Provides the e-certificate for blood donation, by which a donor can accept blood (if
required) for free or less cost.
5. All the details of donor are first verified by a hospital and then updated to the
application, thus avoid false cases.

OBJECTIVES:
1. To provide a means for the blood bank to publicize and advertise blood donation
programs.
2. To allow the probable recipients to make search and match the volunteer donors,
and make request for the blood.
3. To provide an efficient donor and blood stock management functions to the blood
bank by recording the donor and blood details.
4. To improve the efficiency of blood stock management by alerting the blood bank
staffs when the blood quantity is below it par level or when the blood stock has
expired.
5. To provide immediate storage and retrieval of data and information.
USERS:
There are three types of users:

1. New User
2. Registered User
3. Administrator

Functionalities:

1. New User:

1. He can register on our application by filling his details like: name, age,
dob, address, contact number, blood group.

2. Registered User :
1. He/ she can sell or donate blood to hospitals or acceptor
2. He/ she can search for donors of particular blood type.
3. Administrator :

1. He can validate the blood group of user on basis of report by hospital.

2. He can remove account if he found it fake.

3. He has full privilege on the system's functions

1. FRONT END – HTML, CSS

2. BACK END – JAVA(JSP SERVLETS AND JDBC)
3. SERVER – APACHE TOMCAT
4. TOOLS USED – ECLIPSE JAVA IDE, BRACKETS, MYSQL WORKBENCH
