 Activity 2: Writing Assignment

Part 1: After checking the Unit 1 Topic 2: Modal Verbs, write 1 sentence using each one of
the modal verbs regarding your duties and rights as UNAD student: can – could – may - must
- should - ought to – have to – need to- had better - would.

Example:
 I must follow the netiquette rules to participate in the forum.
 I can’t present the English quiz three times because there are only two attempts.

Solution:

1. I should be develop the quizes and send the tasks on time.

2. I can’t share questions of tests developed in the course.
3. I should Respect the netiquette rules. Respect the tutor and partners.
4. I must choose a role for the development of collaborative activities.
5. I should make the tasks using own ideas, I can’t copy and paste ideas or internet files.
6. I ought to follow the channels of communication: Tutor - Course Director - National
Coordinator.

Part 2: According to the topic Past Progressive (Unit 1: Topic 3), each student must write 5
things you were doing recently and 5 things you were not:

Part 3: Write a text about how you imagine yourself in ten years. Use at least two pictures
related to your text. You should write four paragraphs:

Solution:

My name is Camilo Blanco Cárdenas, I live in the city of Bogotá, I am 33 years old and I am
currently studying Systems Engineering. I work in a company that provides medical analysis
and auditing services to different health service providers. I have a daughter named Camila,
she is 6 years old.

Within 10 years I will work in a company in the area of technology and telecommunications,
supporting the development of web pages, due to my work I will travel the world and meet
many different places and countries. I will reach the position of director or president and focus
on providing excellent working conditions to employees.

Regarding my love life, I will be happily married to my current girlfriend Paula, we will have a
son. We will live together with my daughter Camila in a country house in the savanna of
Bogotá. The relationship will be perfect because with my partner we have a lot of trust and
respect and the relationship is based on dialogue and tolerance.

In relation to my sports life, I will be very dedicated to physical training and to improve my
health conditions. I like to practice sports like soccer and volleyball, which is why in 10 years I
see myself practicing these sports with my family and my friends. I will train twice a week and
on weekends I will go to the park or gym with my wife and children.
