Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Transforming my PowerPoint into an E-book provides support to many
learners in the classroom. It is a useful tool for my visual and auditory learners. It supports them whether a
student is at school or home. They can access the material and relisten/watch it whenever needed. This also
supports my EL learners because they can have access to the video anytime and they can go home and slow
down the video to be able to comprehend the information. When students were to create their own project,
they can use their creativity to create any project they felt would help them learn.

Lesson idea implementation: This would be the presentation the teacher would use as the introduction as
previously discussed in my instructional software lesson plan. The teacher would use the PowerPoint to lead
the class in a discussion about the 3 types of rocks.

After the discussion the students would watch the BrainPOP and do the post video quiz. Then the students
would be broken up to go create their digital projects using PowerPoint or one of the other productivity tools.
They could check the classroom blog to review the PowerPoint while the teacher could meet with small
groups. This gives the students all the information they need right at their fingertips so that they can take
responsibility for their learning. It also hits a high level of Bloom’s taxonomy since the students are creating
this project and have the freedom to make it what they would like. The teacher could then review the
students’ work as either a formative or summative assessment.
Reflective Practice: I feel like this could be a great introduction or even end of unit project. It taps into many
different facets of the student’s knowledge and creativity. It also gives them the opportunity to collaborate
and create something they can be proud of. A way to expand upon this lesson the teacher could go into the
community and find real sample of rocks to bring in. As well as take picture of building and rocks from the
community so students could relate to the images better.
