JOB INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

QUESTION: Tell me about yourself and who is or was your influencer?

ANSWER: I have spent my academic years preparing to become an Elementary Educator. It all
started when I was in fifth grade, Mrs. Davis, who was and still is the biggest influence on my
decision to pursue an Education degree. In fact, I have stayed in contact with her all these many
years. When I graduated High School, I let her know I was going to attend, the University of
New Mexico setting my sites towards graduation. I also have had other teachers and
administration employees that I have stayed in contact with since graduating from the
Albuquerque Public School System. I believe I am the perfect candidate for the position
available due to my education and being a lifelong student in the Albuquerque School District.

QUESTION: How would you adjust a lesson plan if one or more students did not understand it?

ANSWER: First, I would review the assessments of the students who do not understand. Next,
get feedback from each student to get an understanding what part of the lesson it not understood?
Be available and ready to listen and adjust meet the educational, physical or other needs of these
students. If a student needs are more than what can be accomplished in class, then seek advice
from proper channels to resolve learning process.

QUESTION: How would you arrange your classroom?

ANSWER: This is depending on how many students are enrolled in my class and the needs of
each student. For example, if there is a student that has vision or hearing issues, then I would
place student closer to where instruction is being presented. Students who need additional
assistance may need to be placed closer to educational materials and or instructor.

QUESTION: How would you seek assistance if there was a situation with a student or students
that you could not resolve?

ANSWER: I would follow the training provided how to seek assistance by following proper
procedure and policies of The Albuquerque Public School District. This is crucial in order to
protect the students, parents' staff and community. These procedures and policies are important
and valuable.

QUESTION: Why should Albuquerque Public School District chose you instead of other
applicants?

ANSWER: I am sure some applicants have experience, but I have the education, energy,
excitement, desire to begin my teaching career working for APS. I am prepared and ready to
begin and strongly think I am the best candidate for the position and look forward to hearing
from you to start putting into practice all the education and skills I have learned. Albuquerque
Public Schools is where I have always wanted to begin my Elementary Educational career.
