Transfer Goal:
The learners in the long run and on their own will be able to integrate the principles and concepts of force
and energy in their day to day living by spreading awareness on its different effects to the community and
promoting energy conservation and sustainability to become responsible consumers of God’s given natural
resources.
Essential Understanding:
Humans are dependent to the different energies that exist naturally in this world and utilizing it
in moderation will bring good things to our day to day lives.
Essential Question:
Would the world be the same as it is now without the presence of the energies surrounding us? Why
I. Preliminaries
Review:
How will you differentiate convex mirrors and concave mirrors? Why are they considered diverging mirrors
and converging mirrors respectively?

Focus:
Refraction of Light

Motivation: Showing them the actual bending of light using a glass of water and a pencil?

APK: What do you observe on the pencil? What do you think is the reason behind that phenomenon?

II. Lesson Development:

A. Presentation of Concepts
Students will know:
 The concept of refraction of light
 The importance of refraction of light.
 The different real-life situations where there is refraction of light happen.

Students will be able to:

 Explain the concept of the occurrence of the refraction of light.
 Discuss the importance of refraction of light.
 Cite real-life situations where there is refraction of light happen.

Activity: Actual Activity/Question and Answer/Observation

B. Broadening of Concept: - what students/pupils will do to try out what they understood on their own
 Why is there a refraction of light?
 Why is this phenomenon considered important to us humans?
 Do you think without refraction of light we could see the fine details happening in the environment
where we live? Why?
C. Integration:
1. Ignacian Core/Related Values:
How will you show to God that you are thankful for giving us the LIGHT to see the world?
