INTRODUCTION:

Street interface on both the sides of the brahmin street is selected to understand the character of
the street and the social and cultural impacts of both Durga temple and old Shiva temples on the
site. The selected site needs a study on both the street and building interface and hill and building
interface.

Cultural impacts on site:

The Brahmin street unifies both sides ie> first half with building and hill interface has impact of
durga temple like the prasadham of durga temple is made in this part of the site, sathrams by the
temple were also built in the same street, the work area for the shops in the temple are also in the
same site. In the first half the three prominent roads connecting brahmin street and kanaka durga
temple are auspicious for the residents and they offer pooja every Tuesday and Sunday because they
believe that Goddess Durga walked in those streets to the temple they are -

2. Akulavari vedhi

3. Sanyasarao vedhi

The second half has an old Shivalayam which is 100 years old so the surrounding spaces are
influenced because of the temple.

ISSUES:

1.Bus stop removal:

2.Public toilets: Due to lack of public toilets in the site the people are littering in the streets because
of which the sanitation and hygiene in the site is poor.

4.Saftey issues: After six in the evening the brahmin street till kothapeta junction is not safe due to
thief’s and robbers, so the crime rate increased.

5.Drainage: On the daily basis the drainages are hardly sufficient but during rainy season the
drainage overflow which also degrades the sanitation and hygiene of the street.
