INTRODUCTION:
A wetland is a distinct ecosystem that is inundated by water, either permanently or seasonally,
where oxygen-free processes prevail.[1] The primary factor that distinguishes wetlands from other
landforms or water bodies is the characteristic vegetation of aquatic plants,[2][3] adapted to the
unique hydric soil.
Wetlands play a number of functions, including water purification, water storage, processing of
carbon and other nutrients, stabilization of shorelines, and support of plants and animals.[4]
The world is not running out of the water. The real challenge is to provide enough fresh water to a
rapidly growing global population (with growing demands for growth: more energy, more food,
more industry, and more consumption). More and more irregular weather conditions and natural
disasters only exacerbate the situation.
1. Wastewater is not treated before it is discharged into waterways contaminating the source,
which often makes the water unusable for drinking.
2. Drinking water is removed from the same source and was not properly treated again,
causing significant public health problems: 21% of India’s communicable diseases are caused
by hazardous water.

OUTCOMES:
1. It will decrease the time of getting pure water from the
wetland system.
2. Quality of water will be improved.
3. Recycling of wastewater will be easier, no personal skills or
labor is needed.
