Simpson

In

Simpson
said
“I
was
not
elected
to
support
government
as
usual
—
to
go
along
and
get
along.
A]er
winning
the
primary,
I
announced
that
I
would
not
make
a
choice
for
Speaker
unVl
the
fall.
And,
today
I
announce
that
my
choice
for
Speaker

the
Texas
House
is
State
Representa)ve
Ken
Paxton.”
Simpson
conVnued,
“I
gladly
add
my
voice
to
those
supporVng
Ken
Paxton
based
on
his
moral
integrity,
his
proven
commitment
to
returning
civil
government
to
its
proper
limited
role
of
protecVng
life,
liberty
and
property,
and
defending
state
sovereignty.
When
I
begin
my
first
term
in
January,
I
want
the
Texas
House
to
be
led
by
someone
who
shares
the
conservaVve
values
of
East
Texans,
and
I
know
we
will
have
that
with
Ken
Paxton
as
Speaker.
I
believe
Ken
Paxton
has
the
strength
of
character,
deep
conservaVve
convicVons,
and
the
leadership
skills
needed
to
guide
the
Texas
House.”
“This
is
no
Vme
to
waste
a
conservaVve
mandate
given
to
us
by
fellow
Texans.
On
November
2nd,
East
Texans
in
parVcular
sent
a
loud,
clear
message
by
defeaVng
several
incumbent
Democrat
State
Legislators.
Since
ElecVon
Day,
I’ve
heard
repeatedly
from
my
consVtuents
that
they
want
a
more
conservaVve
direcVon
in
the
Texas
House.
I’m
listening
to
my
district,
and
I’m
honored
to
add
my
name
to
those
standing
with
Ken
Paxton.”
