ABSTRACT

Self-regulated learning is a cyclical process, wherein the student plans

for task, monitors their performance and then reflects on the outcome. While

academic performance is the outcome of education ,the extent to which a student,

teacher, institution has achieved their educational goals. The study about the

relationship between academic performance and self regulated learning has not

yet been clarified. Therefore the goal of this study is to determined if there is a

significant relationship of self- regulated learning and academic performance.

Thus, the researchers used correlational design to obtain accurate data needed in

this reseaech. There 249 population size of the Grade 11 HUMSS in Trece

Martires City Senior High School. The researchers used slovin formula to get the

153 sample size of the students which represent from the population size. The

instrument that the researchers used tested the measure the academic self

regulation of the Grade 11 HUMSS students. The academic self regulation

questionnaire was consisted of 15 items which divided into 3 parts; the planning,

monitoring and reflecting. All items were rated the given choices from strongly

agree down to strongly disagree. The result of this study revealed that the overall

level of self regulated learning of the students is moderately self regulated. The

level of academic performance among Grade 11 HUMSS students is determined

to be very satisfactory.

iv
The relationship between self-regulated learning and academic performance

among Grade 11 revealed that there is no significant relationship between two

variables.
