Ilocos norte was placed under a state of calamity a severe tropical storm “Inning” left part of Luzon

including Metro Manila, under water and Saturday at least two person were confirmed dead in Ilocos.
The state weather bureau also reported on Saturday a low pressure area (LPA) 1,735 kilometers east of
Mindanao and still out of the Philippine are of responsibility (PAR).

The Metropolitan Manila Development authority said and ankle-deep to knee-deep floods hit several
parts of the metropolis.

Among the flooded areas were Roxas Boulevard (0.254 meters), Chino Roces Avenue (0.48 m) in Makati
and Magallanes (0.2m).

Quirino Avenue Plaza Dilao, United nation avenue Calaw avenue and Buendia Avenue were in ankle
deep waters, which begun to subside at around noon.

Diverted flights

Seven Manila-bound flights were diverted to Clark International Airport in Pampanga.

A Philippine Airlines flights from Guangzhou and a Quatar airways flights from Doha were among those
diverted to Clark, as well as four Cebu pacific flights from Legaspe, Tagbiliran, Ozamis and Davao and
one Air Asia flight from Cebu.

Manila International Airport Authority General Manager Ed Monreal said the diverted flights were due
to heavy rains which caused zero visibility at Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

In Batanes province, stron mg rains and winds forced and estimated 288 families in Itbayat town to
move to higher ground.

Still recovering from the July 27, earthquakes, Itbayat’s residents were taken to Government Buildings,
while others move to the homes relatives to wait to the typhoon to past according to Dante Balao,
Cagayan Valley Director of the office of Civil Defence.

State of Calamity

In Ilocos Norte Province , Laoag City was placed under a State of Calamity by the City Council on
Saturday when massive floods submerge a number of houses.

A 17-year-old girl was killed and two children were injured by a landslide that buried to houses in the
town of Pasuquin.

The remains of Pauleen Joy Corpuz were recovered at 9am, six hours after the .landslide ,struct at 3am.

Firtsb responders pulled out 9years old John Lloyd Trumpo and 11year old Princess Shalane Trumpo who
were immediately taken to a hospital for treatment.

A second fatality was reported in Laoag City. Rescuers said Ricky Manglanlan who drowned while

Also evacuated were 5year old Joel Baysa, Jose Baysa,28,Elsa Baysa 23,,and Myla Baysa,29.

As of 5 pm on Saturday, ineng was 275 km north-north west of Basco, Batanes moving at 20 kilometers
per hour.

By Sunday, the storm will have left PAR and will be in southern china.

New LPA

Mean while, the LPA outside Mindanao will be named ‘’jenny” when it becomes a TROPICAL
DEPRESSION and enters PAR, the Philippine atmospheric geophysical and astronomical service
administration (pagasa) said on Saturday.
