Jose Rizal

 The most influential figure of the Revolutionary period.


 He claimed that the form of revolution that the Philippines needed to go is that of an
intellectual revolution.

Emilio Jacinto

 He is popularly referred to as the “Brains of the Katipunan”.


 His significant contributions to the Katipunan is the Kartilya ng Katipunan.
 He died at the young age of 23 due to malaria, he remained as one of the most
recognized heroes from the Revolutionary period due to his literary works.
 He promoted the concept of equality in three aspect : race,gender and social status.
 He earned his education from the Colegio de San Juan de Letran and UST where he
intended to finish a degree in Law.
 He remained as one of the most recognized heroes from the revolutionary period due to
his works that guided the Katipunan.

Kartilya
became the source of values of the revolutionaries, exemplified core values like
charity,honor
and equality.

Apolinario Mabini

 He is well known as the “Sublime Paralytic”


 He had started writing his most influences works – El Verdadero Decalogo and
Ordenanza de la Revolucion.
 He is well known as the “Brains of the Revolution”.

Claro M. Recto
 He was often heard and read advocating the “Filipino First Policy”.
 The “foremost statesman” of his generation due to the various nationalistic writings that
he made as a senator.
 He was able to attend prestigious universities like the Ateneo de Manila University,
where he obtain his degree in Bachelor of Arts with high salutation of maxima cum
laude.

Isabelo de los Reyes

 He was one of the founders of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente ( Philippine


Independent Church) or
the Aglipayan Church, which is an independent Christian Protestant church.

 The “Father of Filipino Socialism” due to his writings on anti- Catholicism and labor
unions.
 He was even appointed as the Spanish government’s Counselor of the Ministry of
Colonies.
 He wrote several political series which were printed overseas such as the biweekly
newspaper Filipina ante Europa.
