1. Purpose
To install the monkey ladder at guard houses in SBC facility for an access to the maintenance
works on the slab top.
2. Scope of Work

Proposal for the installation for the monkey ladder with safety basket hoop at the Guard houses at
Gate#1 and Guard House at Gate #2 in SBC facility.

1) Coring on the wall for anchor bolts bolting the Monkey ladder.
2) Installation of the fisher on the slab top of the guards houses for the fixture on the top.
3) Preparation of the foundation step on the guard house Slop top to accommodate a length of
1100 mm between the slab top and the parapet wall surrounding the wall.
4) Scaffolding work if required any for the bolt installation.
5) Lifting of the ladder at each guard house with boom truck capacity 1 ton.
6) Post Activity finish paints to be done on the guard house wall if necessary.

3. Sequence of Activities.

3.1. Ensure all the requirements are fulfilled for obtaining safe work permit which will be used
specifically for the activity mentioned in job description.

3.2. Ensure that all the competent personnel working on the activity are utilizing all the required PPEs
which include the basic PPE requirements of SADARA as well as any additional PPEs as required by
the safe work permit.

3.3. Ensure that the material used during in the aforementioned proposal is as per SADARA standards
and On-Site inspection is performed before commencing the activity.

3.4. Ensure that the Area surrounding the activity is barricaded as per safety standards.

3.5 Ensure that the civil team has cored the block wall as depicted in the drawing for installation
monkey ladder.

3.6: Proper inspection of the material, paint and weld point for the monkey ladder with safety hoop
basket is performed before proceeding to installation of the safety hoop basket monkey ladder.

a) Attached below is the drawing of the monkey ladder with dimension and fix points into walls of
the guard house. The drawing also defines the measurement of the safety hoop basket on the
monkey ladder.
b) Civil mason and team shall also provide a foundation step on the top of the guard house to
accommodate height of about 1100mm of the parapet wall of the guard house.

c) Proper Drilling tools shall for drilling the wall, installation for fisher with pre-marking as per the
drawing details for four cleat welded to the length of the monkey ladder.
d) Shim plate/washer plate to be used on the slab top of the guard house with anchor bolt
installation for the top fixture of the ladder on the slab top.
e) Scaffolding works shall be provide if necessary for reaching the bolts points during installation
and bolting.
f) Boom truck of capacity 1ton shall be used for lifting the stair at each guard during installation.
g) Proper post Activity will be performed.
h) Grounding cable shall be involved on the ladder with excavation on the area beneath the
interlock with proper grounding standards of excavation and steel rod requirement.

3. List of Materials and Equipment/ Vehcile

4. Responsibilities
4.1 Maintenance Engineer
4.1.1 Supervise and plan the activity.
4.2 Mechanical Technicians.
4.2.1 Bolting the stair on the block wall and slab top.
4.3 Civil Team.
4.3.1 Drilling and installation fixture of the on the block wall and slab top.
4.3.2 Preparation of the foundation step on the slab top and interlocks at the foot of the ladder.

5. Compliance to Safety & Protection

Ensure that all the activities are carried out by the competent personnel are in complete compliance to
EHS standards and rules of SADARA
