Womens Daily Wear

Betawi traditional clothing uses a veil as a head covering. This veil is usually like a woman's shawl and is
often used by young women. The color of this veil usually also adjusts to the color of the Kurung clothes
worn.

The fabric color used to make this Kurung clothes is a bright color. This Kurung clothes usually have no
pattern but sometimes they have a small pocket in the front.

This fabric is used to cover the lower body. Fabric colors that are commonly used are bright colors and
have geometric pattern. In its use is often adjusted to the color of the Kurung clothes worn.

Groom’s Attire

In betawi, grooms attire known as care haji style. The coat consists of two parts. The outer part is made
of velvet cloth and the inside is a smooth white cloth. The lower body only uses long pants that adjust to
the color of the shirt. For the head covering is a turban commonly called Alpie. To make it look
harmonious Betawi groom wear footwear in the form of loafers.
Bride’s Attire

Betawi aristocrats cloth

For Betawi aristocrats there are special clothes that can be worn during traditional ceremonies. The
Betawi people are usually called it as Ujung Serong clothes. In earlier times the style of this noble cloth
specifically intended for the Demang (headman). Along with the development of the era, Betawi Ujung
Serong traditional clothing officially used by the Jakarta Civil Servants (PNS). This type of traditional
clothing can only be worn by men. And the woman wear the same cloth that they wore as daily wear.
