We are pleased to inform that you have been admitted to the CS Foundation Programme of the Company Secretaryship
Course with effect from July, 2019 Your admission is valid upto June, 2022 Your admission number
219997666207/2019 , which may invariably be quoted in all future correspondence with the Institute.
Please download the Student Identity Card from www.icsi.edu. Please get the Student Identity Card attested from
Gazetted Officer of Central / State Government or Associate/Fellow Member of this Institute / Manager of Nationalised
Bank / Principal of Recognised School.
Apart from the Study Materials issued / being issued to you, soft copies of the same have been uploaded on the website
of the Institute www.icsi.edu .
The CS Examinations are usually held in the months of June and December every year. The earliest examination at
which you would be eligible to appear is June, 2020 .The Computer Based Examination (CBE) will be held for
Foundation programme students.
The Institute brings out CS Foundation Programme Bulletin, E-Bulletins which are sent to the students by E-Mail at
every month which can also be downloaded from the website of the Institute.
An E-Learning Portal has also been developed for the benefit of students. The details of courses imparted through E-

Course. You are advised to carefully go through the “important instructions” as mentioned below to understand the
guidelines to be followed while pursuing the CS Course which will help you to comply with the procedural requirements
and plan your studies in an efficient manner.

The Admission Number as mentioned above has been generated and issued pending detailed verification / scrutiny of the
information / certificates submitted by you. Please note that in case any discrepancy / factual error is noticed in any of the
information/ documents furnished by you including non-eligibility and submission of fake/forged certificates at any stage
may result in cancellation of admission, forfeiture of fees remitted, cancellation of results/appearances and all or any of
the benefits accrued thereon.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
Dear Student,
We are indeed pleased to extend a cordial welcome to prepare for the CS Foundation Program of the Institute.
Since you are at the beginning of your professional career, it is important to know the guidelines pertaining to
the CS Course. You are advised to carefully go through the ensuing paragraphs which gives all the important
guidelines. Once you go through the guidelines, you will be better equipped to comply with the procedural
requirements and plan your studies in an efficient manner.
Subjects:
Pattern of Examination
After completion of a minimum period of 8 months from the date of admission (excluding the month of
admission and the month of examination), the candidates would be eligible for appearing in the Computer
Based Foundation Programme examination presently conducted twice a year in June and December.
Examination would be conducted on Computer Based comprising objective type multiple-choice questions.
There would be 50 questions of two marks each in each subject.
Qualifying Marks
A candidate shall be declared to have passed in the Foundation examination if he/she obtains at one sitting a
minimum of forty per cent marks in each subject and fifty per cent marks in the aggregate of all subjects.
Exemption
Provided that a candidate who has appeared in all the subjects for which he/she was enrolled and has
obtained sixty per cent marks or above in any subject, but failed, shall be declared to have passed in the
subsequent examination, if he/she obtains a minimum of 40% marks in each remaining subjects and fifty per
cent marks in the aggregate of the remaining subjects at one sitting within the next three following
examinations.
Candidates may carefully note that choice of Examination Centre and/or Medium of Question Paper Booklet
once exercised in the Examination Form shall be final and no request for change in this regard shall be
entertained under any circumstances.
Examination Fees
Presently the examination fees is Rs. 1200/ - (Rupees One Thousand Two Hundred only). However, at the
time of filling the examination form, students are advised to check the exact amount of examination fees from
the website of institute www.icsi.edu as the same may be revised by the Council time to time.
Last date for receipt of enrolment applications for examination in the Institute:
(i) 25th March (with late fees of Rs. 250, 9th April) for June examination.
(ii) 25th September (with late fees of Rs. 250, 10th October) for December examination.
Examination Requirements
Students are required to comply with such other conditions relating to examination as may be laid down by the
Council of the Institute from time to time.
Students shall be eligible for appearing in Foundation Programme examinations on the basis of self study on
completion of a minimum period of 8 months from the date of admission (excluding the month of admission
and the month of examination).
STUDY MATERIAL
The study materials pertaining to the subjects will be sent to you by post after approval of your registration.
The number of study lessons and the contents thereof are given at the beginning of each study material. You
may please check the contents of the packet and immediately bring to our notice, discrepancies, if any
including short supply, missing lessons, etc.
All the study materials have been prepared incorporating as far as possible; the latest amendments that have
taken place upto the date of bringing out the study material. Detailed course content for each subject have
been given at the beginning of each study material. Lists of suggested readings and books for reference have
also been given for the benefit of students. Some of the law subjects undergo changes either by legislative
amendments or through Rules, Notification, etc. issued from time to time. It is, therefore, essential for every
student to keep his knowledge updated. In case you experience any difficulty of academic nature, you may
write to Directorate of Academics & Professional Development at academics@icsi.edu
At the end of some of the lessons, you may find “Self-Test Questions” relating to the subject discussed therein.
These are meant for recapitulation only. Answers to Self-Test Questions need not be submitted to the Institute
for evaluation.
While writing/Emailing to the Institute,you must quote your admission number and complete correspondence
address with pin code number. Letters/Emails not bearing the student admission number will not be attended
to.
The Regional Councils, Chapters of the Insitute have been conducting class room teaching for the benefit of
students on payment of additional fees. The class room teaching is optional.
Students who desire to join class room teaching may contact the respective Regional / Chapter Office of the
Institute for enrolling themselves for class room teaching.

Students may please note that the Admit Cards for appearing in the CS Examinations may be downloaded
from institute's website www.icsi.edu by the students approximately 15 days before the commencement of
examinations.
For Foundation Programme Students, E-Mark Sheets are issued which can be downloaded from the website
of the Institute www.icsi.edu and the same are not sent by post.
UNIFORMITY IN SIGNATURES
Students are advised to maintain uniformity in signatures in the various applications/correspondence sent to
the institute and the same should match with the signatures as available in the Institute's records.
MODE OF PAYMENT
Registration/Examination fees can be paid either through Debit/Credit Card, Netbanking or Bank Challan
System.
All students are advised to give a valid/correct email ID and Mobile Number while registering online which shall
facilitate quick and economic communication from the Institute's side.
UPDATION OF ADDRESS
Students are advised to update their address in case they have changed their place of residence. Address can
be changed through your online account by clicking on change of address option. In case any student fails to
update his or her address in case of change in the same, he/she may miss the important communication/study
material etc which are sent by post.

For timely resolution of the complaints/ queries ICSI is now on a Single Grievance Redressal Portal i.e at

The Institute had launched ‘ICSI Study Centre primarily to enhance the reach of the Institute in areas which
are not getting the desired level of services due to distantly located Regional/ Chapter Offices of the Institute.
Under the scheme, the Institute is striving to establish Study Centres in most of the Smart Cities as proposed
by the Government of India which shall not only
remove the distance barrier but also improve the level of services being provided to the students in such
