Few Important Points Listed Below


 The web address for the Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) payment is https://onlineservices.tin.egov-
nsdl.com/etaxnew/tdsnontds.jsp
 TDS is payable on or before 30th of the next month, from the month of TDS deduction
 If there are more than one buyers, please speak to your tax consultant before making the TDS payment **
 Please note that the delayed payments not only attracts Interest (u/s 201) but also the Late fee (u/s 234E) of the Income Tax
Act’1961. The details & calculations of which are shared below for ready reference:
Illustration of Interest calculation :
An interest at 1.5% is charged on the amount of tax. The interest is charged for every month OR part of a month from the date on
which the tax was deducted to the date on which such tax is actually paid
For E.g. :- If a tax of Rs.55,000/- is deducted on 25th June 2015, the same is required to be deposited with the government account
on or before 30th July 2015. However, if the same is paid on 7th August 2015 then the interest calculations will be as follows :
Interest Rate : 1.5%
Delay in months : 3 months ( Here the number of months of default is 3, because part of June will be counted 1, full July month
will be another 1 & part of August also will be 1 making a total of 3 months of default )
Thus the calculation is : Rs.55,000 × (3 × 1.5%) = Rs.2,475/-
Illustration of Late fee calculation:
In addition to above interest, a late fee of Rs.200/- per day will be levied
For E.g. :- If a tax of Rs.55,000/- is deducted on 25th June 2015, the same is required to be deposited with the government account
on or before 30th July 2015. However, if the same is paid on 7th August 2015 then the late fee calculations will be as follows :
Late fee : Rs.200/- per day
Delay in days : No. of days from July 30, 2015 to August 7, 2015 = 9 days
Thus the calculation is : 200 X 9 = Rs.1800/-
