Estimados/as Colegas,

I wonder how many of us are Radio Talk Show fans? If

you are, you will have noticed
that most Radio Talk Show (RTS) fans listen in. I
would say more than 98 % of RTS fans
just listen in, and the rest, including the host, do most
all the talking.

After being involved with Listservs for over many

years, I noticed that Listservs like LARED-L

http://www.lared-latina.com/subs.html

are very similar to RTSs in this sense. In LARED-L for

example, it seems a small group of subscribers
post the majority of the messages, and the rest of us
just 'listen in,' so to speak.

I don't know why this happens. However, I will guess

that most folks are shy, and would rather
just 'listen in' on the conversations.

We want to encourage and

challenge all subscribers/members to post messages
on LARED-L.
Please do not be intimidated by the fact that there are
over a 1000 subscribers Nationwide listening in.
Look at it this way, you have a 1000 strong
National Receptive Audience (24/7) interested in
knowing what you have to
say.

The following are some suggestions for messages you

may want to post on LARED-L:

1) Your opinion regarding any national or local socio-

political, economic, or educational issue.
2) Are a poet? Post one of your poems.
3) Are you a writer? Post an abstract of your work.
4) Are you a Journalist? Post one of your columns.
4) Are a scientist? Post an abstract of your
research study.
5) Do you know of any ethnic related internships, or
scholarships in your college or university?
6) If you are aware of any employment opportunities,
please let us know.
7) How about special events, or conventions in your
area?
8) Are there any local social, educational, or political
events in your area, that you want us to know about?
9) If there is anything you want to say or express,
please feel free to post it on LARED-L.
10)) LARED-L is an Open Forum, so please feel free to
express any opinion, or belief about
anything you want.

If you have any other suggestions, please let us know.
