Lesson Log Teaching Quarter 3rd
Date and Time Day

I. OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standards Demonstrate an understanding of organism as having

feedback which
are coordinated by nervous and endocrine system.

How this feedback mechanism help the organism

maintain homeostasis and survive.

B. Performance Standards To be able for the student to differentiate every function

of the part of nervous system.

C. Learning Competencies and At the end of the lesson the student should be able to:
Learning Objectives Competency Code: SIOLT-IIIC-36

 Describe how the nervous system

coordinate and regulate this
OBJECTIVES
 Identify the parts of the nervous system
 Appreciate the individual function of every
parts of nervous system..
 Differentiate the Central Nervous System (CNS)
and the Peripheral Nervous System in terms of
their function.

I. PRAYER
- “Let us all stand and put our present with the
Lord. In the name of the father and of the son
and of the holy spirit”.
- “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your
name. Your kingdom come, your will be
done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sins against us. Do
not bring us to the test, but deliver us from
evil. Amen.”
- “In the name of the Father, and of the son,
and of the holy spirit. Amen.”

and of the holy spirit. Amen.”
II. GREETINGS
- “Good morning/ afternoon/ evening class!”
- “Good morning Sir/ Ma’am!”

III. CHECKING OF ATTENDANCE

- “Mr/ Ms ___________ (secretary of the class),
Is there any absentees today?”
- “Sir/ Ma’am __________, our absentees
today is/ are ___________.”

A. ELICIT

Ok class I have a K-W-L chart here in front

now get a piece of paper and answer the
question

B. Engage

TEACHER’S ACTIVITY STUDENT’S ACTIVITY

Before we start discussing, I need two

volunteers ( The student will raise their hands to
volunteer )

Listen carefully to my instructions. ( The two student will go in front )

If I say “brain” you’re going to put your hands
in your head; when I say “heart Yes ma’am
place your hand at chest level, in a heart
shape; and when, I say touch stretch your
hand sideward. Is that clear? ( The two student will execute the
action based on the given instruction )

This time do it faster. ( The student will execute the actions

based on the given instructions in fast
manner.)

Thank you. You may now take your seat.

Class what can you say about the action of Their bodies responded quickly as
the bodies of your two classmates whenever you give them instruction.
I give instruction?

Very good!

Based on the respond of their bodies we can Nervous System!

conclude that the human body has the
ability to control and
coordinate activities. Which organ system do
you think is
responsible for this characteristic?

Perfect!

Teaching Tips

 Before the students perform the

activity, you may show pictures of the
different parts of the nervous system.
 Three dimensional models of the
nervous system may also be shown to
the class so that the students have a
more realistic visualization.
 Show animated video for visual
exploration for the nervous system.

C. EXPLORE
TEACHER’S ACTIVITY STUDENT’S ACTIVITY

Class for your deeper understanding about

the nervous
System we will be having a group activity.

The group activity is entitled Break It Down!

I will group you into two. This side will be the

group one
and the other side is the group two.

Let me clarify things. I will give you ten

minutes to finish this
activity. In this activity you will identify the
components
of the nervous system by filling the missing
parts of the graphic
organizer.

The first group will fill the Central Nervous

System (CNS)
And the second group will fill the Peripheral
Nervous System
(PNS).

Are my instructions clear? -“ Yes Maam/Sir”

D. EXPLAIN
TEACHER’S ACTIVITY STUDENT’S ACTIVITY

1.How will you differential Central Nervous The Central Nervous System (CNS) serve as the
System (CNS) and the Peripheral Nervous main processing center for the entire nervous
System (PNS) in terms of their function. system while
the Peripheral Nervous System (PNS) connects
the central nervous system to the organs and
-“Okay, thank for your answer.
limbs by relaying information through the nerves.

2.What might happen to human body if one

part of the Nervous System fails to carry out All the other parts of the nervous system will not
its function properly. be able to carry out their corresponding
function, and the bodies system will be affected
as well.

E. ELABORATE

Class, kindly give some problems and -Alzheimer’s Disease

disorder of the nervous system.
-Amnesia
Yes Alzheimer's disease is one of the problem
and disorder in our nervous system because it -Comatose
a is a progressive disorder that causes brain
cells to waste away (degenerate) and die. -Insomnia

-Migraine
Amnesia can be caused by damage to
areas of the brain that are vital for memory
processing.

A coma is a deep state of unconsciousness.

It can happen as a result of a traumatic
accident, such as a blow to the head, or a - Sleep early.
medical condition, for example, some types
of infection. - Exercise regularly

- Eat balance diet

How can you keep your nervous system
healthy? - Get plenty of rest

- Do not use alcohol;

Yes having a good sleep can help our body
to function really well. - Drink plenty of water

Exercising regularly can maintain our body in

good condition that helps our nervous
system to stay healthy.

F. EVALUATE

Since that the parts and the function of the nervous system is clear to all of you
-“I’ll give you a test paper, get one and past the rest to your back but first listen to my
instruction.”

-“Before you answer the question, write first your name and section then read the
directions, each statement/question carefully and encircle the correct answer.” Is that
clear?”

-“Okay. Now you may proceed answering your test paper. I’ll be giving you 10-15 minutes
to finish the quiz.

Directions:
Read each statement/question carefully. Choose and encircle the correct answer.

1. What system of out body that connect all our body parts and transmit signals from one
part to another?

a. Endocrine System
b. Reproductive System
c. Nervous System
d. Digestive System

2. This is an organ that functions as organism and distribution of information for the body.
Which of the following is it ?

a. Brain
b. Brainstem
c. Spinal Cord
d. Spinal Nerve

3. This system is associated with the involuntary control of your body movements and has
two divisions which are the sympathetic and parasympathetic.

a .Somatic Nervous system

b. Automatic Nervous system
c. Peripheral Nervous system
d. Nervous system

4. The following are the main parts of brain. Which are not ?

a. Cerebrum
b .Cerebellum
c. Brainstem
d. Hypothalamus

5. This is the nerve that carry motor and sensory signals between the spinal cord and the
body. What part of somatic nervous system is it?

a. Cerebrum
b. Spinal nerve
c. Cranial nerve
d. Brain

-“Okay class, the allotted time that I give to you are already done. Now, pass your paper
in the center line and pass it forward.”

G. EXTEND

-“Since it’s time for dismissal, here’s your

assignment for tomorrow. Write it in your
science notebook and don’t forget to
answer it.”

-“Assignment: Explain the quote:

“ God may forgive your sins, but your
nervous system won’t”.

Good bye class -“Good bye Maam/Sir.”

V. REMARKS
