Daily Lesson Log in Grade 12

DISASTER READINESS AND RISK REDUCTION

2nd Quarter SY. 2019 - 2020
Date/Day: Teacher: KRISTAL PEARL S. ROSETE
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate understanding of Related geological
hazards
1. Rainfall-induced landslide
2. Sinkhole
B. Performance Standards The learners develop a family emergency preparedness plan to
guide them on what to do before, during, and after the occurrence of
events that cause geological hazards.
C. Learner’s competencies/Code At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

The learners recognize signs of impending geological hazards.

(DRR11/12-IIa-b-29)
*Specific Objectives (3 skills a day)
1. Cognitive* Give the signs of impending geological hazards.

2. Psychomotor* Illustrate the signs of impending geological hazards.

3. Affective* Give the importance of studying signs of impending geological

hazards.
II. CONTENT Topic: Other Geologic Hazards Sub Topic: Signs of Impending Geologic
Hazards

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson (or) presenting the new Teacher will review the previous lesson on causes of geological
hazards through Frayer Diagram. He/She will call representatives
lesson. (ELICIT)
from the class to accomplish the frayer diagram.

What are the causes of Define what geological hazards

geological hazards? is.

Geological
Hazards

How will your learning on What are the effects of

geological hazards help Geological hazards?
you in your daily life living?

B. Establishing a purpose to the lesson. Teacher will use picture analysis strategy. The picture is all about
visible signs of landslide hazards. The teacher will ask some
questions connected to the picture that he or she will show.
Questions:
1. How can you describe the picture?
2. What can observe about the different numbers indicated on
the pictures?
C. Presenting examples / instances of the new lesson. After the learners shared their answers, teacher will discuss how to
(ENGAGE) recognize the signs of impending geological hazards through a video
presentation.
D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills Teacher will have the differentiated activities and will divide the class
#1. (EXPLORE) into four groups.
Group 1: Use Web Mapping to recognize signs of impending
geological hazards.
Group 2: Leaners will make a role playing. The theme is about signs
of impending geological hazards.
Group 3: Learners will illustrate how to recognize signs of impending
geological hazards.
Group 4: Learners will act as news reporter; the news is about the
signs of impending geological hazards here in Philippines.
E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills Each group will discuss their insight and learning on their output in
#2. front of the class.
Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #3

F. Developing Mastery. (EXPLAIN) Teacher will ask the students the following question:

1. In a landslide-prone area that is devoid of natural or man-made

structure, what signs can be used to see any imminent occurrence of
a landslide? How about on a sinkhole-prone area?
G. Finding practical application of concepts and skills The students will answer the following questions:
in daily living,
How can you make sense of the concept of the 1. Describe how to recognize the signs impending geological
lesson in your real-life context? * hazards.
2. What is the importance of studying signs of impending geological
hazards?
H. Making Generalization and Abstraction about the
lesson.

I. Evaluating Learning. 1. What escape plan can you make if you live on a landslide-prone
area? How about on sinkhole-prone area?
3. Research how to interpret geological maps.
J. Additional activities for Application or Remediation.

V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the Evaluation
B. No. of learners who require additional activities for
remediation who scored below 80%
C. Did the remedial work? No. of learners who have
caught up with the lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to require remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies worked well? Why
did this work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which my principal
or superior can help me solve?
G. What innovations or localized materials did I
used/discovered which I wish to share with other
teachers?
