TO 12 Teacher Ciara Mae Princes C. Cubelo Learning Area Mathematics

DAILY Teaching
LESSON Dates August 13,2019 Quarter SECOND
LOG
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of factors of
polynomials, rational algebraic expressions, linear equations and inequalities
in two variables, systems of linear equations and inequalities in two
variables and linear functions.
B. Performance Standards The learner is able to formulate real-life problems involving factors of
polynomials, rational algebraic expressions, linear equations and inequalities
in two variables, systems of linear equations and inequalities in two
variables and linear functions, and solve these problems accurately using a
variety of strategies.
C. Learning
Competencies/Objectives Write Illustrates the rectangular coordinate system and its M8AL-Ie-1
the LC code for each
II. CONTENT Patterns and Algebra

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or
presenting the new lesson
(ELICIT)
B. Establishing a purpose for the Draw and illustrate the Rectangular Coordinate system or Cartesian plane
lesson Explain that the coordinate system
(ENGAGE) established one-to-one correspondence
between a point on the plane and an
ordered pair of real numbers.

C. Presenting examples/instances of
the new lesson Explain that for every point on the plane, there corresponds an ordered pair of real
(ENGAGE) numbers, and for every ordered pair of real numbers, there corresponds a point on
the plane.

D. Discussing new concepts and Give examples and show to the class how to plot a paired numbers.
practicing new skills #1 1.Begin at the origin (0 , 0), move to the right or left along the x-axis using the
(EXPLORE) number indicated by the absolute value of the first coordinate.
2.From that position on the x-axis, move up or down using the number indicated by
the absolute value of the second coordinate.
3.Draw a dot to represent the point described by the coordinates.

E. Discussing new concepts and Let the learners plot each point on the same Cartesian coordinate plane.
practicing new skills #2 a. P (7,-5) d. R(-6,8)
(EXPLORE) b. I (-4,-4) e. N(0,6)
c. E ( 5,0) f. S (6, 8)
F. Developing mastery Let the learners plot each point on the same Cartesian coordinate plane. Then
(Leads to Formative Assessment 3) construct a table with columns for the sign of abscissa, sign of ordinate, and location
(EXPLAIN) of the point.
A (-4,6) B (5,-5) C (-7,-7) D (4,0)
E (3,6) F (-3,3) G (5,4) H (3,-2)
G. Finding practical applications of
concepts and skills in daily living What is the importance of learning Cartesian plane?
(ELABORATE)
H. Making generalizations and
abstractions about the lesson How to plot an ordered pair?
(ELABORATE)
I. Evaluating learning Plot the points on one Cartesian coordinate plane.
(EVALUATE) 1. A (1,-4) 3. C (0,0) 5. (3,0)
2. B (-8,3) 4. D. (0,7)
J. Additional activities for application Plot each point on the same Cartesian coordinate plane. Then construct a table with
or remediation columns for the sign of abscissa, sign of coordinate, and location of the point.
