Question 9 (9 marks)

Seconda casa nel borgo antico. Gli stranieri scoprono l’altra Italia.

L’Italia fa ancora innamorare di sé gli stranieri. Fra quelli che vengono in vacanza,
sempre di più decidono di continuare la loro storia d’amore con il nostro paese,
comprando una casa e un nuovo stile di vita. Questa non è certo una novità. Quello
che sta cambiando però è che molti stranieri hanno il coraggio di scoprire posti
nuovi, acquistando una proprietà in regioni meno conosciute, lontano dalle località
turistiche più famose.

Ma cosa li spinge a scegliere una casa in Calabria piuttosto che in Toscana?


Sicuramente il ritmo più lento di un paesino senza troppi stranieri, la possibilità
di conoscere la gente del luogo e di vivere come loro. Tanti stranieri scelgono
paesini di campagna, dove trovano vecchie case molto più economiche di quelle in
Toscana, che spesso ristrutturano da soli, a poco prezzo.

Guardiamo la storia di Robert Mann, un australiano di Brisbane, che dopo aver


visitato l’Italia moltissime volte, ha deciso di comprarsi una casetta a Badolato
in Calabria. ‘Mi ero sempre sentito un turista in Italia, nonostante fossi venuto
molte volte. Ma da quando ho comprato un casolare in questo bellissimo borgo
di campagna, mi sento di far parte di questa comunità che mi ha accolto a braccia
aperte. Ho perso così tanto la testa per questo pezzo d’Italia, che ho deciso di vivere
qui e aprire un agriturismo.’

Veramente una bella storia d’amore.

IL BLOG DI STEFANO

Perché l’Italia ha bisogno di una nuova legge sulla cittadinanza?


Oggi riflettiamo su una nuova legge che, se approvata, darebbe automaticamente
la cittadinanza italiana a bambini nati in Italia da genitori stranieri che vivono nel
nostro paese. La legge che esiste al momento garantisce la cittadinanza italiana a
bambini nati in Italia, solo se uno dei loro genitori è cittadino italiano. Ma in realtà
soltanto pochi si trovano in questa situazione. Ecco perché abbiamo bisogno di
questa nuova legge per proteggere i diritti di tutti i ‘nuovi’ italiani.
Ma chi sono questi ‘nuovi’ italiani? Sono i bambini, i ragazzi e i giovani adulti nati
e cresciuti in Italia, che hanno studiato nelle scuole e università italiane, che hanno
imparato la nostra lingua, che hanno sempre pensato in italiano e che ora fanno parte
della nostra società. Sono circa ottocentomila i giovani che quest’anno non potranno
ottenere la cittadinanza prima dei diciotto anni, perché i loro genitori non sono
cittadini italiani. Ma c’è giustizia in tutto questo? Io credo di no! Consideriamoli
come una risorsa per il nostro paese, non come un problema!

Ne conosco uno, si chiama Mohammed. È nato e vissuto in Italia, si


Giorgia è laureato, ha combattuto per poi trovare un lavoro mediocre, perché
non tutte le professioni sono accessibili a chi non ha la cittadinanza. Ha
pagato sempre le tasse e speso soldi per rinnovare continuamente il suo
permesso di soggiorno. Ha vissuto centinaia di situazioni in cui è stato
trattato come uno straniero, uno che non ha il diritto di partecipare alla
vita della sua comunità. È a questo ragazzo che si dovrebbe pensare
quando discutiamo di questa legge. E pensando a lui, penseremo anche
al futuro del nostro paese.

In Italia esiste una legge che riconosce la cittadinanza per diritto di


Bruno discendenza a bambini nati da genitori di nazionalità italiana. E secondo
me, stiamo bene così! Altrimenti dovremo spalancare le porte del nostro
paese a uno tsunami di gente. L’Italia non ha bisogno di lavoratori
stranieri, perché ci sono un sacco di italiani che cercano lavoro.
Teniamoci la legge esistente, che ci garantisce la nostra storia e una
società più omogenea! Mohammed potrebbe ritornare al suo paese. No?

Io sono italiana ma sono residente in Australia. Mio figlio è nato qui e


Renata ha la cittadinanza australiana. Meno male che qui non esiste la legge a
cui si riferisce Bruno. Questo è un paese meraviglioso che ha sempre
‘spalancato’ le sue porte a milioni di italiani in cerca di un futuro
migliore e che continua ad offrire tante opportunità di lavoro a tutti.
L’omogeneità non è solo di un colore e non parla solo una lingua!

Ciao Marco,

Ci puoi credere che fra un mese sarò lì in Italia da te? Non vedo l’ora di tornare a
Napoli, dopo il mio scambio dell’anno scorso. Senti, ho scoperto che la settimana
in cui arrivo ci sarà la partita Roma – Napoli. Sono australiana ma vado matta per
il calcio e sogno di vedere la mia squadra del cuore, il Napoli!

Quand’ero da voi, tua mamma non mi ha mai permesso di andare allo stadio.
Diceva che le partite sono pericolose per via dei comportamenti stupidi di tifosi
ossessionati.

Anche per gli australiani lo sport è un’ossessione ed è quasi impossibile non farlo.
Ogni fine-settimana siamo fuori all’aperto. Tutti a fare sport!! E anche qui alle
partite i tifosi non si comportano sempre bene . . . È un vero peccato, no?

Dai, Marco, lo so che a te lo sport non piace . . . preferisci la musica. Fammi questo
piacere, però. Compra i biglietti e accompagnami alla partita. Che ne dici?
