BIGBOOK and SIM Brigade at Beti E/S

NARRATIVE REPORT

Big books and SIM production are the best instructional materials that a
teacher should produce in order to help themselves in teaching the learners.

Producing and having these kinds of instructional materials are a big

help because these IM’s help the learners develop their reading ability and
help them develop themselves through answering or doing the tasks given in
the Strategic Intervention Materials.

These instructional materials are very helpful to the teachers and

learners so the school is trying its best to develop or produce at least one for

Mathematics is usually one of the toughest subjects that the learners

encounter. And this caused them having a low MPS in Math both in MYS and
EGRA, and decreasing level of achievement rate in Pre-test and Posttest of
the learners.

To avoid these negative effects, the teachers of Mathematics in Beti

E/S were convened by the school head to think of ways to increase the MPS
Level and achievement rate of the learners in school. So to help them
increase this MPS level, teachers who are teaching Mathematics are
continuously conducting different activities such as MTAP, MYS remedial,
having the Pre and Post Test Result on MYS activities to determine the level of
the learners.

Project “Mag-aaral Akayin, Magpalista sa Paaralan Tipunin”

NARRATIVE REPORT

Some parents nowadays are lacking time in attending school matters

for their children because of their busy schedule in their work.

One problem that we usually encounter in school is that the number of

learners enrolled during the early registration is decreasing. So to address this
lacking, the staff and school head of the school coordinated with the
Barangay Officials regarding the program. They help hand-in-hand in
conducting home visitation and giving flyers and letters to all parents.

The “Mag-aaral Akayin, Magpalista sa Paaralan Tipunin” project does

not cost any amount because the school head and the barangay have
vehicles which were used during home visits and distribution of flyers from
house to house.

The said project was successfully implemented because the number of

learners enrolled during this years’ early registration increased from 250 to 330
leaners.

Reading and Comprehension Skills”

NARRATIVE REPORT

One of the most problems in every school that we encounter is the

reading and comprehension skills of learners due to some factors. One of
these is the insufficient reading materials of the school.

In order to help these learners improve their reading and

comprehension skills, our school launched its Little Free Library (LFL) and have
a close monitoring on the reading time of the learners. Every after meal
during lunch at exactly 12:30 PM every school days, the teachers are
conducting intervention on reading, some are done through peer teaching
reading where the Ate’s and Kuya’s from higher grades teaching reading to
their Ading’s from lower grades. Another is through conducting the Phil-Iri it is
also another way to help these children in improving their reading level.

The said project is closely monitored by the school head of the school
with the help of the SPG Officers who are in-charge of the monitoring of
borrowed books. The project is then a big help to increase the percentage of

Project “TWO-ME” Ten WOrds to Master Every Week

NARRATIVE REPORT

Some of the learners of Beti Elementary School have low mastery in

word vocabularies. So the school finds a way to help these learners develop
and increase their vocabularies.

The TWO-ME activity is being conducted in every class of the school

wherein teachers are allotting time of at least 10 minutes in conducting
simple spelling bee before or after their classes. The teachers let the learners
read the words three times and then they are going to have the spelling bee
activity. Then the teacher let the children find the meaning of the words in
their dictionary at home and use them in sentences. This activity is very
promising in helping the learners develop their vocabularies especially that it
does not cost too much because the instructional materials to be used in this
activity is all from the school MOOE.
