PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

Our esteemed Chief Guest Hon’ble Justice Dr. Mukundakam Sharma former Judge Supreme
Court of India, Hon’ble Chairperson of our Governing Body Prof. Daman Saluja Director Dr.
B.R. Ambedkar Center for Biomedical Research University of Delhi, Hon’ble Treasurer of
our Governing body Prof. Satish K. Awasthi, other respected members of Governing Body,
former members of Governing Body, our founder Principal Dr. K. P. Chinda, and esteemed
guests, my colleagues from teaching and non-teaching fraternity, dear students and their
parents, a very good morning to all of you. I, on behalf of Keshav Mahavidyalaya, welcome
you all on the occasion of the College Annual Day and Prize Distribution Function. It is my
proud privilege to have you all here. I am deeply honoured by your presence.

The year 2019 is a year of great pride for us as we are going to complete 25 years since the
inception of the college in 1994. We strongly believe that education is the most powerful tool
that can bring about a positive change in individuals around the world. It has been our earnest
endeavour to be a centre of rigorous thinking and high-impact transformative education. With
a stellar record of 25 years in the field of academics, Keshav Mahavidyalaya is amongst the
best off-campus colleges of University of Delhi. Our college has had a very humble
beginning under the able guidance of our founder Principal Dr. K.P. Chinda. His dreams,
aspirations and vision for this institute laid a strong foundation for a fruitful journey of
learning and growth. The college started functioning from a school building in Keshavpuram.
When we look back, we see a small group of enthusiastic faculty members and students with
equally great spirits working diligently. With each small step taken by students and faculty
together every day, the college has grown by leaps and bounds. Initially, the college offered
just two courses namely B.Com. (H) and B.Sc. (G) Computer Science. Today the college is
offering nine courses in the disciplines of Science, Commerce, Management Studies,
Psychology, Computer Science with a student strength of over 1600 and is confident to add
many more courses soon. The college also offers Certificate Course and Diploma in French
and German Languages and an add-on course on Radio Broadcasting.

This is the moment to pause, to reflect and to consider how we have spent our 25 years. Our
students have made it to the best of institutions of higher education in India and abroad, some
are successfully placed in organisations across different countries of the world, some have
become famous entrepreneurs, some have taken up research while some have joined the
teaching profession. All staff members have played a vital role in shaping the students’ lives.
Each passing day brought with it a new set of challenges and opportunities. But we all stood
together to meet them head-on. We believe in updating ourselves continuously to meet the
expectations of today’s learners. In this short yet fruitful journey, the college has many proud
moments to share with you all.

We shifted to the present new campus of the college in the year 2006. Our college was
accredited Grade ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in
2016. We were awarded rank 15 by MHRD’s National Institutional Ranking Framework
(NIRF) in 2017. With the best of faculty and infrastructure, the college has churned out
toppers year after year. The college also has a Girls Hostel running for the past five years.

Administrative authorities of the college along with faculty members have student
representation in the form of KMV Student Union members who now participate in the
