Knowing the theme of this speech competiton is “the power of skilled and

capable university student to meet industrial revolution 4.0” I just remembered when I
was junior high school about 5 years ago, computers were still very sophisticated and
something new in my school, that was the main advantage in promoting school at that
time. I clearly remember that my teacher often said "being able to speak English, to
operate a computer and having an attractive appearance is the most important thing to
work", but nowadays these points don't become something special anymore. I am also
reminded of the case of German companies that had to fire more 5,000 employees and
be replaced with machines. This is a serious problem.

Estimates that in 2020 world will be entered into the era of industrial
revolution 4.0 where there will be many emerging sophisticated robots,
supercomputers, autonomous vehicles, and things that might be considered very
amazed for humans become a big challenge for students like you and me. In this
situation we not only compete with fellow humans but also machines. And what
happens if we are not moving on from our habits? We will be replaced. The
challenges has changed and more severe, of course the skills needed are not the same.
As students who rely on the ability to operate computers around Microsoft Office
Word, Excel, Power Point is not enough, because things are better than this can be
done by the machine.

The power that a student should have in this day must be oriented towards
things that cannot be done by machines, not only so that we can meet this industrial
revolution 4.0, but also to be able to survive in it! As students, we can start from now
to develop our potential, while the skills we need to develop to meet the industrial
revolution 4.0 are as follows:

1. Problem Solving and Critical Thinking

I remembered what my father used to say about "what makes human
different because people are given a mind and mind" now, I just understand the
meaning of the quotes, Problem solving means we need to identify problems and then
come up with solutions and critical thinking means having clear goals, reasoned, and
goal-oriented.
I am proud to be part of this campus, KKNI helps us to learn it by working on
engineering idea and project work there we can apply ideas to produce solutions to
problems that have been identified previously. In addition, we can also try to apply by
participating in the PKM program (student creativity program). There are lots of
activities that we can do to hone the skills of this problem solving, such as joining
MUN, Conference, joining build organizations and many more.

2. Coordinating With Other

Coordinating with other teams or people outside the team is also needed to
build good communication and relationships, with coordination we are able to
exchange ideas, share experiences, knowledge and many other things that certainly
add to our knowledge, as students don't be apathetic! Blend are much inportant ,
when you meet those whose knowledge is under you just teach them, when meeting
those with one standard of science with you go for discuss and exchange ideas, and
when meeting with knowledgeable people above you don't be shy to learn. These
three points need to be done to develop self potential in meeting the challenges of the
industrial revolution 4.0

Ladies and gentlement, before I close my speech this time, I was reminded
of the phrase "jamane jaman edan" which means that the era is going crazy. Industrial
revolution era is crazy, how not? Humans compete with machines many people are
unemployed because they lose competitiveness with machines! Machines that don't
need style just work, the machine is upgraded, there are still many people who are at a
loss. Are you not afraid of being replaced with a machine? If you don't think so, it is
"uong edan" which means the basis of crazy people. Stop dreaming of being a worker,
have the leader-minded.
