SCHEME AND OBJECTIVES

India has an aspiration to become $9 trillion economy by 2030, and to be the

world’s 3rd largest economy. This goal could be achieved only by increasing the
competitiveness in the market, attracting more investment and further creating
sufficient no of jobs for its young dynamic population. Recently India has
emerged as one of the fastest growing economy and in the report of world bank
ease of doing business it has ranked 130th rank among the countries due to its
strong vibrant economy. Further India’s labour force is expected to touch 160-
170 million by 2020 based on the rate of the population growth and this has
created an opportunity and challenge for the Indian economy. One of the road
maps towards this challenge is to develop the climate of entrepreneurship and
skill development. To evolve the business environment in India Govt of India has
taken a lot of steps including giving up incentives and subsidies under the
schemes like PMEGP to encourage the youth to opt for business as another career
option in contrast to other govt jobs. several schemes /assistances, benefits are
available to the entrepreneurs through different departments of Govt of India.

PMEGP is one of the flagship programs of the govt of India’s to generate

employment opportunities in rural and well as urban areas through setting up of
employment generation units/micro enterprises. Under this scheme the total
project cost in case of manufacturing sector and service sector are should not
exceed 25 lakhs and 10 lakhs respectively. The quantum of subsidy under this
programme ranges from 15-35% of the project cost. With regard to the eligibility,
the applicant needs to be unemployed having age not below than 18 years.

INTRODUCTION
A tent is a shelter consisting of sheets of fabric or other material draped over,
attached to a frame of poles or attached to a supporting rope. While smaller tents
may be free-standing or attached to the ground, large tents are usually anchored
using guy ropes tied to stakes or tent pegs. First used as portable homes
by nomadic peoples, tents are now more often used for recreational camping and
temporary shelters.

Tents range in size from "bivouac" structures, just big enough for one person to
sleep in, up to huge circus tents capable of seating thousands of people. The bulk
of this article is concerned with tents used for recreational camping which have
sleeping space for one to ten people. Larger tents are discussed in a separate
section below. Tents for recreational camping fall into two categories. Tents
intended to be carried by backpackers are the smallest and lightest type. Small
tents may be sufficiently light that they can be carried for long distances on
a touring bicycle, a boat, or when backpacking.

The second type are larger, heavier tents which are usually carried in a car or
other vehicle. Depending on tent size and the experience of the person or people
involved, such tents can usually be assembled (pitched) in between 5 and 25
minutes; disassembly (striking) takes a similar length of time. Some very
specialised tents have spring-loaded poles and can be 'pitched' in seconds, but
take somewhat longer to strike.

Tents are often used in humanitarian emergencies, such

as war, earthquakes and fire. The primary choice of tents in humanitarian
emergencies are canvas tents, because a cotton canvas tent allows functional
breathability while serving the purpose of temporary shelter. Tents distributed by
organisations such as UNHCR are made by various manufacturers, depending on
the region where the tents are deployed, as well as depending on the purpose.

6
Industrial and Engineering Consultancy ® (Govt. Approved),
Room no. 312, Lone building K.P Road Anantnag
At times, however, these temporary shelters become a permanent or semi-
permanent home, especially for displaced people living in refugee
camps or shanty towns who can't return to their former home and for whom no
replacement homes are made available.

MARKET AND DEMAND

Keeping in view the present view of the marriage function being carried on going
on in and around Rajouri, the demand for tent house can’t be ignored. With the
increase in the size of population resulting in the increase in functions being
carried on hence increase the demand for tent house. Moreover, other government
and development agencies also carries on the function are also the big consumers
of the tent house requirements. The project has good demand in the market
particularly in major centres of tribal areas. It is also observed that services of
tent house have good potential in important centres of tribal districts. Keeping in
view the aforesaid, the unit is not expected to face any difficulty in marketing as
envisaged in the project report provided it maintains the quality and competitive
price.

LAND AND BUILDING

The promoter namely IMTIYAZ AHMAD SHEIKH S/O GULL MOHD SHEIKH R/O DEVA
COLONY SHERPORA ANANTNAG Kmr has arranged land and building on rent basis
at DEVA COLONY SHERPORA ANANTNAG Kmr for setting up the proposed unit.
Further the civil works cost involved will be zero as the building for housing the
plant and machinery and other units of the proposed activity is already
constructed. Also, the proposed location for the unit has all the infrastructural
facilities viz power supply, water supply, road connectivity etc for the unit to
become functional and run smoothly.
