This action research proposal examines the effectiveness of the audio-lingual method in improving grammar performance among 9th grade students. It will compare the grammar scores of 8 students receiving audio-lingual instruction to 8 control students. Students will be pre-tested and post-tested, and their scores analyzed using t-tests to determine if the audio-lingual method led to statistically significant improvement. Participating schools are Sibuan-Otong and Nagyubuyuban Integrated Schools in the Philippines.

I. Proposed Title THE EFFECTIVENESS OF AUDIO-LINGUAL
METHOD IN THE GRAMMAR PERFORMANCE OF GRADE 9 STUDENTS IN NAGYUBUYUBAN INTEGRATED SCHOOL AND SIBUAN-OTONG INTEGRATED SCHOOL.
II. Research Questions 1. What is the performance of Grade 9
students in English before the implementation of Audio lingual method? 2. What is the performance of Grade 9 students in English after the implementation of Audio lingual method? 3. Is there an improvement in the performance of the Grade 9 students after the implementation of the method? 4. Is there a significant difference in the performance of the students before and after the implementation of the method?
5. Action Research Methods The study entitled “ The effectiveness of Audio
Lingual Method in the Grammar Performance of the Grade Nine Students” is a pre- experimental design that attempts to analyze how effective is Audio Lingual Method in teaching listening skill using the method to improve the grammar ability of the students. The researcher used pre-experimental design with two groups of pretest and posttest for the controlled and the experimental group A. Participants and other sources of data The population of this research will be eight students from the controlled group and eight from the experimental group. The sample was taken from the Ninth Grade Students of Sibuan- Otong Integrated School and Nagyubuyuban Integrated School. The students will be of the same age, academic performance, and English grade. B. Data Gathering Methods To find out the research of the investigation the researchers will use T-test as the statistical method to test the significance of group differences between the two groups and Excel to analyze the result. The test will be designed so that the procedures for administering the test, the materials used in the test, and the way in which the test is scored are constant. Both of the pretest and posttest that will be given to the students. C. Plan for Data Analyses To protect the identity and keep confidentiality of all the subjects, the names of the respondents were given numerical number as code in both groups. The data of this research were analyze by excel using the t-test formula. 6. Work Plan and Timeliness
7. Cost Estimates
