TOPIC / LESSON NAME WRITING THE REGIONS: TRADITIONS AND TRENDS

CONTENT STANDARDS The learner will be able to understand and appreciate the elements and contexts of 21 st century Philippine literature from
the regions.

PERFORMANCE The learner will be able to demonstrate understanding and appreciation of 21st Century Philippine literature from the
STANDARDS regions through:
1. a written close analysis and critical interpretation of a literary text in terms of form and theme, with a description of its
context derived from research; and
2. an adaptation of a text into other creative forms using multimedia.

LEARNING COMPETENCIES Writing a close analysis and critical interpretation of literary texts and doing an adaptation of these require from the learner
the ability to:

5. differentiate/compare and contrast the various 21st century literary genres and the ones from the earlier genres/periods
citing their elements, structures and traditions

SPECIFIC LEARNING At the end of the lesson, the learner:


OUTCOMES 1.appreciate the contributions of the canonical Filipino writers to the
development of national literature;
2. relate how plot and plot devices help create the reading experience in works
of fiction.
3. respond critically to the story and articulate this response through a skit on
the story.
