Abstract
Backgroud: According to PERMENKES number 41 year 2014 having breakfast daily is
important mostly for kids because they/re on a growing phase and brain development, good food arrangements can be a good natural boost for their development. Breakfast habit often being neglected especially in school kids, according to Akbar Leo (2015) and Anas Tamsuri (2012) there is a significant relation between breakfast and the level of concentration on kids at school. According to Irina (2014), Soepaedi (2009), there are some factors that determine the habit of taking breakfast for school kids like genders, supplement knowledge, parents education level, parents job, family support, food availability and teacher’s support at school. The research data above made researchers interested in conducting research related to factors related to breakfast habits of elementary school students, especially at SDN 08 Pagi Tomang because they did not yet know the related data. Methods: This Study method is analytic design with cross sectional Approach, The Population in this study were all students who attended in school that grade IV,V,VI elementary school SDN 08 Pagi Tomang Jakarta in July-August 2019 with the total population is 89 students and the sampling was done by total sampling method. Data analysis used the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program version 23.0. Results: From 85 research subjects the results of the study showed that the majority 66 students (77.6%) had breakfast habits, while 19 students (22.4%) the rest had never or very rarely had breakfast. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between mother's education, mother's occupation, availability of breakfast and the availability of time for breakfast to breakfast habits. Then there was no significant relationship between gender, father's education and father's occupation on breakfast habits of students at SDN Pagi Pagi Tomang Jakarta in July-August 2019.
