In October 2002, the month of the Holy Rosary, Our Holy Father, Pope John Paul II,
issued a special apostolic letter in which he announced the creation of a new set of
Mysteries to be used in praying the Rosary.
Our Holy Father states: "The Rosary clearly belongs to the kind of veneration of the
Mother of God described by the Second Vatican Council: a devotion directed to the
Christological center of the Christian faith, in such a way that when the Mother is
honored, the Son...is duly known, loved and glorified."

The new Mysteries center around decisive events in the life of Christ. Our Holy
Father calls them "The Mysteries of Light" because Christ in his public life manifests
himself as the "Mystery of Light." These events are:

The Five Mysteries of Light

Said on Thursday
1. His Baptism in the Jordan
2. His self-manifestation at the wedding of Cana.
3. His proclamation of the Kingdom of God, with his call to conversion.
4. His transfiguration.
5. His institution of the Eucharist, as the sacramental expression of the Paschal
mystery.

The group of mysteries will be called the "luminous" mysteries. The Pope suggests
that they be prayed on Thursday. The joyful mysteries would be used on Monday
and Saturday, the sorrowful on Tuesday and Friday, the glorious on Wednesday and
Sunday.

Hail, Holy Queen

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy!
Our life, our sweetness, and our hope!
To thee do we cry, poor banished
children of Eve, to thee do we send
up our sighs, mourning and weeping
in this valley, of tears.
Turn, then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us; and
after this our exile show unto us the
blessed fruit of thy womb Jesus;
O clement, O loving, O sweet virgin Mary.

Pray for us, O holy Mother of God

That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

The Sacraments

2. Confirmation

3. Eucharist

4. Reconciliation

5. Marriage

1. I, the Lord, am your God. You shall not have other gods besides me.

2. You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain.

3. Remember to keep holy the Lord's Day.

4. Honor your father and your mother.

5. You shall not kill.

6. You shall not commit adultery.

7. You shall not steal.

8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.

10.You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods.

Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you, and I detest all my sins,
because of Your just punishments, but most of all because they offend You, my God,
who are all-good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Your
grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin.

Act of Contrition (modern)

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and
failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I
firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever
leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In His
name, my God, have mercy.

Amen.

23rd Psalm

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.

In verdant pastures He gives me repose;

Before restful waters He leads me; He refreshes my soul.

He guides me in right paths for His name's sake.

Even though I walk in the dark valley I fear no evil; for you are at my side, with your
rod and your staff that give me courage.

You spread a table for me in the sight of my foes; you anoint my head with oil; my
cup overflows.

Only goodness and kindness follow me all the days of my life;

And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for years to come.
Daily Prayers of the people of the Reformed Catholic Church

The Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Act of Contrition

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins,
known and unknown, not only because I dread the loss of heaven and dread the
pains of hell, and not only because Thou art my Creator, my Redeemer and my
Sanctifier, but most of all because my sins have offended Thee, my God, Who art all
good in Thyself and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy
grace, to confess my sins, to do penance and to amend my life. Amen.

Apostle's Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus
Christ, His only Son, Our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the
Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He
descended into Hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into
heaven, sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall
come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Holy Catholic
Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the
body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace! The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and
blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us
sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Act of Faith

O my God, I firmly believe that Thou art one God in three Divine Persons, Father,
Son and Holy Ghost; I believe that Thy divine Son became man, and died for our
sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all
the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because Thou hast revealed
them, who canst neither deceive nor be deceived.

Act of Love

O my God, I love Thee above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because Thou
art all-good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of Thee.
I forgive all who have injured me, and ask pardon of all whom I have injured.

Act of Hope

O my God, relying on Thy almighty power and infinite mercy and promises, I hope to
obtain pardon of my sins, the help of Thy grace, and life everlasting, through the
merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer.

Angelus

V. The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.

R. And she conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit

Hail Mary...

V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord.

R. Be it done to me according to thy word.

Hail Mary...

V. And the Word was made flesh.

R. And dwelt among us.

Hail Mary...

V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.

R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray.

Pour forth, we beseech thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts, that we to whom the
Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may
by His passion and cross be brought to the glory of his resurrection, through the
same Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Prayer to St. Joseph

Oh, St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne
of God, I place in you all my interest and desires. Oh, St. Joseph, do assist me by
your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your divine Son all spiritual
blessings, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. So that, having engaged here below your
heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most Loving of
Fathers. Oh, St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you, and Jesus asleep in your
arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my
name and kiss His fine head for me and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my
dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of departed souls, pray for me.

Prayer for Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

Where there is injury, pardon;

Where there is doubt, faith;

Where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness, light;

Where there is sadness, joy.

Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; to
be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we
receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in dying that we are born to
eternal life.

--St. Francis of Assisi

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.

Body of Christ, save me.

Blood of Christ, inebriate me.

Water from the side of Christ, wash me.

Passion of Christ, strengthen me.

O good Jesus, hear me.

Within Thy wounds hide me.

Suffer me not to be separated from Thee.

From the malignant enemy defend me.

In the hour of my death call me.

And bid me to come to Thee.

That with Thy Saints I may praise Thee

Forever and ever. Amen.

Confiteor

I confess to Almighty God, and to you by brothers and sisters, that I have sinned
through my own fault. In my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done, and
what I have failed to do. I ask the Blessed Mary, Ever Virgin, and all the angels and
saints, and you my brothers and sister to pray for me to the Lord our God. . Amen.
Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the
beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Lord's Prayer

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will
be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us
our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who
fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left
unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my
Mother. To thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the
Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.

Morning Offering

O my Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer Thee all my prayers,
works, joys, and sufferings of this day for Thy greater honor and glory, the salvation
of my soul, for the intentions of our Holy Father, and for the poor souls in Purgatory.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May
they rest in peace! Amen.

Daily Offering

God the Father, I thank Thee for creating me. God the Son, I thank Thee for
redeeming me. God the Holy Ghost, I thank Thee for sanctifying me; infuse into my
thoughts, words and actions Thy grace, so that they may be supernaturally pleasing
to Thee and supernaturally rewarding to me, forever.
O Blessed Trinity, abundantly assist me in becoming that which Thou intended me
to become when Thou created me, for in that perfection I will give Thee the glory
Thou desirest of me, and in that perfection I will find my greatest joy in heaven.
Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Sacred Heart of Jesus, with all its love, all its
sufferings and all its merits.

First --- To expiate all the sins I have committed this day and during all my life.
Gloria Patri.

Second --- To purify the good I have done poorly this day and during all my life.
Gloria Patri.

Third --- To supply for the good I ought to have done, and that I have neglected this
day and all my life. Gloria Patri.

A Poor Clare, who just died, appeared to her Abbess who was praying for her, and
said to her: "I went straight to heaven, for, by means of this prayer, recited every
evening, I paid all my debts."
