When it is compulsory for housing societies,
why MCGM is not acting. Our duty is only the
segregation, which we are doing. Even the
Municipal Commissioner has said that it is the
duty of the MCGM to lift the garbages.
As per the Government E-Commerce
policy, the aggregators cannot dictate the
market price. We should write to concerned
authorities that whatever is applicable to us
also should be applicable to the aggregators.
In FSSAI, suspension for minor offence defeats
the purpose of the act. Even though notice is
served, we have the recourse through appeal
to higher-ups, which the members should do.

The Meeting began with 2

of Kashmir, who had laid down their
life safeguarding the Nation.
The President welcomed all the
members and advisors to the 3rd
monthly Managing committee
meeting of 2019. He then requested
the Host Vice President Shri Santosh
Rai,Zone-VII to present his inaugural
speech.

Vice President Shri Santosh Rai
Shri Santosh Rai welcomed the
gathering and thanked his members
for electing him as the Vice President
of Zone-VII. He said, he was
bedridden because of a surgery and
thanked all members of the Zone
for attending various grievances
and sorting it out it in his absence
like that, support of advisors,
Subcommittees members and office
bearers are also commendable. .He
requested the President to proceed
with remaining agenda.

through telephone inquiry by office
staff. He requested the VPs and the

be briefed to members through a
presentation.

the FL-III license fees are hiked
by only 5% in the current year. He

Hon. Treasurer Shri J.D.Shetty clarified that
the donors are getting relief under IT for the

coordination with the office bearers and the
Sub Committee. He invited all Sub Committee
chairmen to briefed their activity and also
requested all VPs to provide 2 members from
the Zones to the MCGM committee for proper
coordination and follow up with MCGM issues.

We have been constantly following up with
the excise Minister and the officials with a
request not to hike the FL-III License in the
current year due to hike in excise duty by 18%.
The Government has considered our request
and hiked the FL-III license fees, which is
usually 10% every year to 5% giving relief to
the Permit Room Hoteliers. We have also met
the Finance Minister and convinced him to
shift the present VAT of 5% on liquor products
to the first point. The Minister has instructed
GST commissioner to give his comments and
we hope the same thing will be considered in
the ensuing budget.

He appreciated the work done by the
previous FSSAI subcommittee in addressing
the grievances of the members. He said that the
checklist provided by FSSAI has become very
technical like calibration of the refrigerator.
They are for calibration of all requirements.
The IRs and subsequent suspension, in any
case, are due to not following due process of
notice, considering the reply etc. He said that
we can go for an appeal to the arbitrators and
for small offence, suspending the license/
operation is not correct. We are trying to get
the appointment with FDA Commissioner to
discuss the same. However, till date, we are
unable to get the same. In case our grievances
are not addressed by the commissioner, we
will write to FSSAI, Delhi for redressal.
Shri Sukesh Shetty
The Fire compliance very difficult in the
beginning for the restaurateurs. However, we
have to go with it. We had met CFO regarding
seizure of Gas cylinders by their officials
and the harassment. The CFO assured the
delegation that he will look into the matter
and for any legitimate complaints, he can be
contacted. Regarding the mushrooming Grey
kitchen, we have to bring it to the notice of EOH
and urge her to make it compulsory for Grey
kitchens/aggregators to procure all licences,
permits, NOC required for the hoteliers
under section 394 of MCGM. Regarding the
pending matter of sign board by MCGM, we
will be writing to the Urban Development
Department for clarification and redressal.
We will also study the latest notices by the
environment department and do the needful.
He said it is better to carry out the basic
hygiene requirements at our own to avoid the
same being mentioned in the IRs.

• The members are again requested to
submit a complaint about any harassment,
grievances in writing, which will be easy to
discuss with the concerned authorities.
• Shri Sangle, DFO has said that they target
80% of piped Gas to the city and suburbs in the
current year.

Since many issues of MGL are unsolved, it is
better to have meeting and dialogue with MGL
officials to solve the pending grievances. He
further said, it should be done at the earliest,
as many hoteliers in suburbs are yet to get
piped gas, in spite of applying years back, due
to MCGM not allowing digging the road for
laying pipelines of MGL. He advised meeting of
MCGM Committee, MGL and self for a proper
coordination

New Year has brought some good news to
the industry like reduction in a hike of FL-III
License fee, reduction in contribution to ESIC
by employers from 6.5% to 5% to name the
few. In Service tax matter, even after paying
the same, notices are served to the hoteliers.
The Fire Compliance is mandatory for renewal
of 394 licenses. He said we have to upload 8
documents online and after due inspection
Fire compliance will be given by the Fire
Department. He wished a more joyful year
ahead for all members.
