Part - A [10 x 2 = 20]

1. List any four advantages of digital signal processing.


2. Define the term “spectral density”.
3. Write the Cauchy residue theorem.
4. Differentiate periodic and non-periodic signals.
5. Find DFT for the signal x(n) = {0,0,1,2}.
6. Why is there a specific order n = 0,4,2,6,1,5,3,7…. When supplying inputs to the DIT-FFT algorithm
for a given x(n)?
7. Write the steps for impulse invariance method in converting an analog filter to digital filter.
8. Draw the basic form of Direct-I realization for an FIR filter.
9. Name any two DSP processors for motor control application used currently.
10. What is the use of circular buffer in DSP processor?

11. Draw the C5x architecture and explain the important features for the C5x processor.

25 dB attenuation at 350 and 450 Hz

b] Derive the filter equation for a Butterworth low pass filter by using standard notations. [16]
