Main Engine Generator Shaft Upgrade Kit
The old configuration can be upgraded with
the kit which contains a new shaft and
circular polyimide spline adapter. In addition
to eliminating the scheduled maintenance for
spline lubrication the polyimide spline adapter
eliminates metal-to-metal contact between
driving and driven components, which
reduces the occurrence of premature gearbox
removal due to spinal wear.
Main Engine Generator Shaft Disconnect
Addresses safety concerns of incumbent valve’s
flow body separation occurences. Honeywell’s
one-piece valve is a drop-in upgrade at all for
wing locations. Valve can also be installed at
two locations in the empennage for
commonality purposes. Over 20 years safe,
high reliability performance.
ECS Component Upgrades
Provides a 2 times increase in cooling
turbine reliability (5,000 hour MTBF).
2 times increased service life for heat
exchangers and at least a 1.3 times
improvement in reliability for flow
control valves.

Functions as a ‘mechanical fuse’ that

severs the shaft of faulty generators and
prevents extensive damage to the
generator and the possible need to
‘feather the engine.’ Once the generator
and engine have been disconnected the
engine may be operated without hazard..

Auxiliary Power Unit Air Turbine Starter

Increases airflow for better ECS performance,
expands generator capability from 20 to 40
KVA and uses longer-life materials for a 4
