The Sustainable Development Goals are 17 development goals set by UN which

are helpful for sustainability and stability of the developing countries.

The most important sustainable goals are as follows:

1. No Poverty
2. No Hunger
3. Quality Education
4. Good Health
5. Proper Housing Needs
6. Economic growth
7. Clean Water and Sanitation
8. Gender equality
9. Healthy Environment
10.Affordable and clean Energy

a. No Poverty:

 The people in an economy should be below poverty line and the poverty
must be reduced for better standard living of people.
 In my field experience I have visited Nallur Village and there are 2 sectors
in those village. One sector of village is well developed and have basic
amenities. The other part of village is having around 50 households and over
200 people in this sector.
 There are many people living under the poverty line and measures need to be
taken for their sustained development. We have done a small part from our
side in understanding the situation better and help by our level.

b. No Hunger:

 The Eradication of Hunger for the people is also a key take away in this
Sustainable development goals. In our country there are almost 9% of
population who are not suffering from Hunger issues.
 In my field visit there are not having malnutrition food and even they are
able to have food, there need to be proper intake of vitamins and proteins,
which we help them overcome the malnutrition.

c. Health:

 The health life is an important Sustainable goal and In my field visit I have
observed several child with severe malnutrition.
 In one of our field visit we arranged a small medical camp by taking doctors
with us and checked the basic health indicators such as Blood pressure,
Heart beat and BMI of the children is noted for identifying their growth and
health.
 There is several malnutrition in many children and better food should be
provided for their proper health. The proper health will raise their immunity
levels and will fight diseases otherwise they are prone to several diseases.
 In one of our field trips we provided sanitary pads and explained benfits of
using them for proper health and safety.
 The Government needs to take steps in providing better quality resources
for their proper health.

d. Quality Education:

 In our visit we observed many children are not receiving quality education
as some of the children are not interested to study and they need to be
schemes that benefit the children and only proper education leads to ideals
economy for them and in turn helps for their development.
 In the small time we have we tried to teach them basic English sentences for
their Introductions and small engagements and we observed in some
choildren their grasp in understanding was very good and formidable.

e. Proper Housing needs:

 The Basic need other than food and water is Housing needs. The Proper
housing needs to be provided for healthy house hold.
 In our visit we identified that many households are not having proper cement
houses and still living in Huts.
 They needs to be steps taken by government in providing proper housing
needs for each and every household at least in subsidy, so the people life
condition will be improved.

They are several other Sustainable development Goals such as Healthy

Environment, Sanitation and Clean water and Clean Environment. In my
visit I came to observe there needs to be increase in the Clean water facilities
and Sanitation. In my visits I came to realize that the people are working
hard to improve their standard living and it is our part to help them in any
way that leads them to happy and better life.

The Karma Yoga is very helpful for Experiential learning and acquiring
transformational leadership skills. I felt very privileged to participate in Karma
Yoga Initiative. Karma Yoga is an wonderful initiative and as future managers we
need to have The Leadership and Learning skills that helps us to grow as leader
and this initiative helped in many ways.

The main learning and transformational skills that I have acquired from this
Initiative are:

I. Humility and Empathy.

II. Self Satisfaction
III. Leadership Ethics and Values
IV. Building Effective Relationship between Peers
V. Perception and reflection of actions
VI. Building Personal credibility and Positive Influence

The main aspects that are essential for transformational leadership skills are
The Ethics and values of leader should be important skill and after watching
the difficulties the under privileged people are facing, I felt many a times I was
unsatisfied over small things and watching people not even having basic needs and
how they are working hard for their daily wages it provoked me to do some good
for the betterment of their lives.

The Humility and Empathy are also primary skills of an effective leader. The
Empathy over others well being cannot be thought it should be experienced and the
best way to learn about the experience is getting to know people around you and
Karma Yoga provided a great opportunity.

The building relationship between peers needs to healthy relationship and in

no way you need to have superior behavior and this initiative helped how you need
to get along with others even if it is difficult understanding them. In future you
may need to supervise various people from various backgrounds and without any
perceptions and prior notion you need to give each and every individual proper
attention and help for their growth.

The personal credibility and positive Influence is an important factor in

sustained individual growth. According to Pygmalion effect having a positive
perception over an individual will lead to positive growth of the individual. So
form my visit I try to have positive influence over the people and in doing so you
get healthy and good response from the people.

The Key take away form class room learning and Field visit are:

Class room learning:

The importance of sustainable development goals and Energy conservation

methods taught by Prof. Arulsamy and leader visit from Aroville has been very
helpful.

1. From the Visit of Leader from Aroville we came to know about the
importance of Conservation energy techniques how they developed
forestation and the planting and farming techniques without causing harm
to the environment. The Leader of the Aroville also explained about how all
the techniques and the cooking methods they use are healthy to environment.

2. The Energy Conservation methods and renewable energy resources

development for healthy environment are also an key take away from the
Class room learning. There needs to use of recycling, reuse and waste should
be managed in a ideal way so that it leads to healthy environment.
3. The Sustainable development goals such as No Poverty, No Hunger, Proper
Housing needs, Quality Education, Healthcare have been the key take away
in the classroom.

Field Visit learning:

1. The understanding of reality of the world and many issues the country is
facing has been observed closely. In the first class we took survey in the
households and we came to observe many people are not having proper
sanitation and Housing needs.
2. There is no use of proper health and safety measurements and we thought
about usage and benefit of sanitary pads , washing hands and other small
variables that may help for their personal health. The medical checkup for
children for seeing their growth and sanitary pads to women have been
provided.
3. The Housing needs are need to be provided for them as many households are
not having proper homes and the economic conditions needs to be improved.
The government needs to take measures for better households or at least
provide subsidies for their houses.
4. In one of our visits we provided clothes as many children are not having
proper clothes and I felt many a times I was unsatisfied over small things
and after watching people not even having basic needs and how they are
working hard for their daily wages it provoked me to do some good for the
betterment of their lives. On that day, I realized it's not always about us or
our family and friends. It's how we are striving for the betterment of society.
