This week you worked on your idea generation and
topic research
We have been asked to create several productions
on one topic, the topic must capture the attention
of Generation Z (ages of 14 -24). The topic is based
on British Youth.
As a group we talked about three main topics,
we tried to vary our fashion topic so that it was
targeting lots of different people and lots of
different views. Through these topics we also
covered Gender Identity:
 Gender Stereotyping
 Genderless Fashion
 Gender Fluidity in Fashion
We also discussed slightly the different groups
people are associated to when they wear
specific clothes for example if you wear black
clothing with black makeup you are called a
goth.
I’ve looked at many different websites, but the main
ones I used I gathered lots of information on certain
bits of my topic. On one Jeanne Maglaty talks about
how pink and blue arrived as colours for babies
clothing in the 19th century. The two colours were
not presented as gender signifiers until just before
World War I. I also looked another website talking
about why the male gender still don’t wear dresses.
Something that Komar talks about is that women
have a lot more acceptance when wearing
trousers/slacks, and the reason for this is that we
have created a power balance which doesn't make
skirts and trousers equivalent
I have got most of it done I just need to add a
couple of things to my website regarding the mind
maps and also just adding some more information
to my research Stuff.

This week you worked on your factual programme
We have collected a fair amount of research on our
topic, and have found an expert to Starr in our
factual programme. We have also learnt different
ways in which you shoot a factual programme, for
example the position the cameras should be in, and
where the interviewee should be placed in the
frame.
We used a thing called a crew list to help divide
various jobs to different people, so it meant we can
all get things done and ready smoothly.
From planning things it meant that we could get a
rough idea of how the factual programme will look
and how we should set the whole thing out. Also
planning has made our group idea become more
realistic than what some of us have planned in our
heads.
We are mainly on track we just need to make sure
we get all the filming done and correct so that there
are no problems when it comes to editing.
The main thing we need to do is the filming but that
is roughly it for now.
This week you worked on your production
The planning was not used as much as we wanted
to, but we used the script which we planned out
that the presenters used throughout the
programme.
The first interview we did we were slightly
unprepared so it meant when we reviewed our
footage we could tell that it was rushed. This meant
we had to do a second interview which we did much
better we also had the help from some friends to
help us make sure the cameras where all set up
correctly.
At the start of the week there were four of us but it
dropped down to three, it created a huge set back
as we were supposed to film on the Monday, so it
meant we only had one camera to do our interview,
this didn’t help massively because it caused us to
be behind with our filming meaning less time for us
to edit. We all picked each other up and sorted
things out quickly. We had lots of friends making
sure we were ok and they were also helping make
sure our second interview was more perfect than
the last.
As a group we all worked together well, as well as
having a laugh at the same time. We all work
extremely hard to get things done and we can rely
on each other to make sure we are there when
needed. Everyone’s work ethic is perfect and I
couldn’t ask for more.

most of our filming we did in our free
time. This allowed us to get more work
done during our lessons. Most of the
planning we did too was done away from lesson
time, for example the script was done during the
half-term so that everyone could review.
